what do know about ALL THESE THINGS ? when preachers expound on the pulpit about this text...do you belive they are doing justice to the poor in the pews whose hearts are right with God but do not have: all these things : riches/wealth, cars..etc?

From the context Jesus was clearly talking about food, clothing, and shelter.
The entire segment starts with Matthew 6 Verse 19. Jesus gives a warning about laying up treasures on earth.
Then Matthew 6... Starting with verse 25...
do not be anxious about your life
what you will eat or what you will drink
nor about your body
what you will put on
v. 32 your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.
Now the question is... does the word "all" in verse 33 refer to only the things in verses 25-33 or does "all" include everything in 19-33?
I'm not sure of the specific interpretation, but here is what I lean toward.
If you seek first the kingdom of God and His Righteousness, the God promices to take care of your basic needs. God reserves the right to bless you materially, but He gives a strong warning about it, that if your heart is on the gifts and not the giver, you are in fact not serving Him, but you are serving money, and thus you're not seeking first the kingdom of heaven. In this case, God is not under any obligation to provide for you clothing, food, health, or life.
But most people when misquoting it to get riches, are in fact preaching the opposite. If they say "seek first the kingdom of God, and you'll get rich", then you're using the kingdom of God as a means to an end, and the end is the desired material posession. So you are in fact never seeking the kingdom as the object, and as said in verse 24, you are serving money.
The point of this whole passage is to completely put yourself in God's sovergn control in terms of your physical life. To die to yourself and allow God to give you your food for the day, to allow God to give you clothing as needed, etc. This way you never have to worry about material posessions, and God gets all the glory for providing for you each day.

Dear srjione,
The passage is basically teaching that we are to value God more than things. All these things can be different things for different people.
God is desiring for people's hearts to be right with Him and he says the priority is God first, everything else 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.
I don't understand how that priority is doing injustice to the poor- because the Bible also teaches much about God's heart for the poor. God protects, provides, and cares for the poor- and asks his followers to do the same.

Actually i think it says "All other things shall be added unto thee", and the translation has NOTHING to do with material possessions, which, by universal understanding, makes the "rich" poor and the "poor" wealthy beyond description.
If i offended your ealthy christian mentality, i shall accept the forgiveness of The Most High as man's forgiveness is flawed and no longer necessary for me.Have a blessed life, and may all good things come to you in the Light of the Spirit.

Patience! If a person prays in faith for GOD to resolve a problem in their life then in essence they are asking GOD to look out in their best intrest. We know we get no where to demand our way and that is difficult if the situation feels desperate. Some prayers we never see the answer to, in this God's grace builds faith in Him into your request. Sometimes we find our prayer comes back as a no from GOD, in this find his grace in knowing He has a better plan for you down the road. All things work for the glory of GOD. We as children fail to see that GOD always anuses or prayers with our best int rest at heart. Do not keep a score by viewing only the blessings of the ones that went in your favor, you will fail to ever understand His righteousness. Concentrate on letting go and letting GOD... The verse of Matt 6.33 does not say you will get your way. Matt 7.7 speaks more on prayer and again enforces that the prayer will be answered, but never states our righteousness, only His! If we could be that righteous in our own lives, we would never need to turn to Him! Our blessings and grace are limited by our own sight. Falling short of the Glory of GOD keeps us "on the wall". He loves you, I see He is building in you the faith in Him you need to build, so He may bless you by fulfilling His calling for you. ... "The faithful shall receive sight" GOD Bless you!

"These things" are not the luxuries God is promising, but the necessities. God says he will take care of us.

When you don't understand a scripture, read the verses before and after.
Jesus was commanding His followers to go to the world to preach the gospel, and not to worry about what they would eat or what they would wear. He was certainly not promising wealth or the glory of the world, in fact, He warned them that they would be hated and persecuted because they were spreading the "cult" of Christianity, as it was considered by non-believers.

Jesus mentioned what "these things" are in the preceding verses:
"So don't ever worry by saying, 'What are we going to eat?' or 'What are we going to drink?' or 'What are we going to wear?' For it is the Gentiles who are eager for all those things. Surely your heavenly Father knows that you need all of them! But first be concerned about God's kingdom and his righteousness, and all of these things will be provided for you as well." (Matthew 6:31-33)
The things are food and clothing.

All these things does not necessarily mean material items such as money, etc. Good health, a loving family and the hope of eternal life are the promises of following Christ.

I doubt these super-rich televangelists seriously think they're going to get into Heaven according to Christian canon. If so, they're extremely stupid. What was that bit Jesus said about how a camel will pass through the eye of a needle more easily than a rich man will enter Heaven...?
