Nonsense. Almost EVERY citizen in America came from immigrants. LEGAL immigrants. Why should Mexican's be allowed to do what our ancestors did legally, ILLEGALLY? Why should Mexicans who came here and went through the entire LEGAL process...have to watch these people get more benefits from doing it ILLEGALLY?

Americans would be willing to do those jobs if we had to. We've proven that throughout American history, and we did it while waving the AMERICAN flag...not the Mexican flag. Personally, I think if we 'employed' minimum security prisoners or those in Juvenile hall to do those jobs...we'd have the problem pretty well solved.

How would you feel if a family of strangers broke into your home, ate your food, used your medical insurance to pay for their own medical care, but...they cleaned your house and washed your car, and planted your garden? Would it STILL be okay for them to take what they want, just because they do the jobs you don't feel like doing? You didn't invite them. You weren't even asked! They're invading YOUR HOME! Sleeping on YOUR FURNITURE! You can't see how wrong this is?

"Illegals do jobs that Americans aren't willing to do"?

That's okay. But if the illegals want to work here, they
can apply it legally. Why do it illegally?

Illegal is always illegal. If they are really valuable to this country, why don't they apply the job and enter the country legally?

Breaking the law is always not right no matter what the reason is. Otherwise, why do we need the law?

I don't think amnesty is an answer to the illegality issue. At least not a long term, security-savvy one. Temporary guest worker programs however would be closer to the spot, well at least concerning the blue collar and unskilled workforce.

I love that argument, because it's the only one that you tree-huggers have, although HISTORY has proven it to be FALSE, time and time again.

Why should the people who are trying to get in the right way have to watch millions of illegals mexicans get in here because they WALK THROUGH OUR STREETS, WAVING THEIR FLAG PROTESTING??? They are NOT American citizens, and our rights of Freedom Of Speech does not apply to them.

You know, here's an idea... Why don't you, and everyone else who is for amnesty, give the government YOUR social security numbers. If you like supporting them so much, they should take those taxes out of YOUR checks, NOT ours.

I think that if they are breaking the law to get here, though, and someone like that isn't going to be much of an asset to this nation. I say to send 'em home, errect an electric fence, and keep them there until the people who have been WAITING FOR YEARS for citizenship get it. THAT sounds fair.

So we need a slave class that works for low wages and at the same time puts American citizens out of work because they can't live on $12,000 a year?

Your opinion has been debunked a million times, wake up

"jobs Americans won't do"? yeah that's right, not for that pay

Zero tolerance for immigration-law violators! No amnesty, no "stealth-amnesty." No "change of status," marriage fraud, "exceptional leave to remain," no "Temporary Protected Status." If you break the law, depart or be deported. Illegal aliens kill more US citizens each year than the war in Iraq has killed in four years. Apologists for illegal immigration like to paint it as a victimless crime. But in fact, illegal immigration causes substantial harm to American citizens and legal immigrants, particularly those in the most vulnerable sectors of our population--the poor, minorities, and children. Additionally, job competition by waves of illegal immigrants willing to work at substandard wages and working conditions depresses the wages of American workers, hitting hardest at minority workers and those without high school degrees. Illegal immigration also contributes to the dramatic population growth overwhelming communities across America--crowding school classrooms, consuming already limited affordable housing, and straining precious natural resources like water, energy, and forestland. Taxpayers are being forced to pay for the free health care, education, and other welfare programs being given to illegal aliens; Those tax dollars could be given back to U.S. taxpayers or used to keep our borders secure; They may be here illegally, but they sure know how to "work the system" to collect "free" medical care, "free" education, "free" food, Section 8 housing vouchers and other housing assistance, and hundreds of other social services. It costs citizens additional hundreds of billions of tax dollars at every level: local, state, and federal. It gobbles up billions of our charitable contributions. And much of that money ends up siphoned out of our economy and into offshore accounts. Illegal aliens, over half of whom work "under the table" with neither job nor income reported (nor taxed), are not counted as employed or unemployed. But some of those day-labor and off-the-books "job-lets" would be "real" jobs - available to American citizen job-seekers - if employment regulations were enforced. Illegal aliens can get away with tax evasion, et al., which citizens cannot. In short, we have too many workforce entrants and too few jobs created. The ratio works out to roughly 7-10 workforce entrants per job created. If all illegal aliens depart or are deported, all legal immigration halted, and all temporary employment visas abolished, we still have a problem with more US-born workforce entrants than new jobs created. Illegal immigration damages our country and our citizens every day at every level. And not even the attacks of 2/26 and 9/11 have awakened many Americans to the vast dangers illegal immigration poses to our selves, our families, our communities, our society, our values, our principles, our civilization. Zero Tolerance for Immigration-Law Violators! We must remember the lessons of 2/26, 9/11, and the costs we bear every single day. God Bless the U S A !

Yes, and they use benefits that we pay for, so you tell me- who really supports them?

Even if they do work no one else will do, they get minimum pay for it (often less than minimum wage), so they can't afford things like health insurance (just one example), meaning if they get sick (do you know anyone who hasn't EVER been sick?), WE (read: everyone legal) pay for their healthcare.

Everyone needs to carry their own weight, no matter where they're from. Illegals need to be legal or get out. That doesn't mean we can't change the process for legal immigration, but it does mean that anyone we let in needs to do things right the first time- otherwise it's a slap in the face to the folks that do.

No amnesty, we do not, and can not ever reward law breakers. They the illegal aliens picked the illegal way, we have a legal way to come here. Do it within our laws, or not at all.

The average illegal costs taxpayers $55,000 a year according to the GAO.

The average bank robber costs shareholders $2500 as the average amount stolen according to the FBI.

I want to rob a bank are you with me? One will get me 20 years, the other will get you citizenship.
