Exactly.
It's why the War on Terrorism is doomed to fail. We spend money to fight the terrorism we finance with our own oil purchases.

If this does involve Saudi Arabia the question then is which are the other two are the others Britain and The U.S.If so the problem is none of these powers call themselves an Axis and are not in a world wide war plus each has a different amount of strength. Alternative energy via Ethanol and electricity have been put to use as well as a policy to not rely on foreign oil. The trouble is people want to retain control of that foreign oil still. Most oil is in the world is now in The Middle East. The U.S. is running out of oil it has been for years and so will other countries. There is also this to consider Urban Expansion and huge cities and all the farm land lost some of which altogether could feed 30 million people. Urban Expansion as well as oil use can be stopped.

The truth is we really do not western Europe buys their oil from the middle east where the US gets most of its oil from Mexico and Venezuela. The concern really is on the price of global oil. Meaning that the US has a vested intrest in keeping middle eastern oil flowing so that China and Western Europe do not seek other sources namely Mexico and Venezuela. If they did then the price for Mexico and Venezuelas oil would be higher for the US.

Sociald has the right answer! The U.S. gets very little of our oil from the middle east.
Knowing that, kind of shoots down the Libs anti war cry "this war is for oil" doesn't it?
Don't believe that the U.S. get very little oil from the middle east? Google it and read the numerous sources that report the same thing Sociald said

Good question & I find myself asking that same question many times. My name is Dr. Jeremy Shock and I work as the Chief Director for the International Federal government's Foreign Research Department. I have been at this position since 1971. This is right in my field of expertise. Anyhow back to your question, recent research has yielded new discoveries that will soon alter America's constant dependency on the Middle Eastern countries for this valuable natural resource. It seems that a similar type of oil 10W-30 has been discovered in numerous townships of Southern New Jersey this past few months. Most notably a town in Gloucester County called Deptford has yielded upwards of 500-700 barrells of this 10W-30 oil. This discovery was made by one Danny Coil while riding his bicycle over the small bridge adjacent to Auletto's Banquet Hall on Cooper St one fall night in 2006. If you have been following exportation records our dependency on the Middle East has plummeted to all time lows since this extraordinary discovery. Therefore we now have an alternative domestic resource in which to acquire this extremely important product. hope this helps answer your question. Yours, Dr. Shock

The axis of evil is a term George Bush used to refer to Iraq, Iran, and North Korea to start a war with Iraq.

Because the Environmental Lobby has made it so we can't drill our OWN oil... which can be found in huge quantities in Alaska and along the coastlines... Oh.. and we can't build refineries any more... because the Environmentalists have made it impossible to get permits...
Fine mess we're in, eh?

Just because Bush labeled certain countries as part of a so-called overused over-rated "axis of evil" does not mean all on his list are any worse than the United States. We are in Iraq. We kill people. We kill many innocent people. Bush and his cronies have caused the deaths of thousands of U.S. troops. Some say such killings are a part of the "sht happens" category, or that "in wars, people are killed."
sorry, those words have little meaning anymore.
There is much to 'fix' in the United States. Failing same, we are no angels.
