What are your favorite past nascar All Star Challneges?

Question

Mine are the 1987 race when it was between Dale Earnhardt vs Bill Elliot
and the 1989 race when it was between Rusty Wallace vs
Darrel Waltrip.

The pass in the grass in 1987 when Dale Sr passed Bill Elliot. That cemented the Intimidator as Nascars best driver.

2001. Almost half the field wrecked in turns 1 and 2 because it was raining at that end of the speedway when they got the green flag. I was in turn 1. Nascar decided that since they shouldn't have thrown the green flag in the first place, and it wasn't a points paying race, that all the competitors that wrecked could pull out their back up cars. About 2 hours into the rain delay while they were drying the track I heard an enormous BOOOOOOOO. I instantly thought "that must be Jeff". Sure enough I looked at pit road and they were pushing the #24 out to the grid. Jeff started in the back of the pack and went on to win the race. Pretty incredible feat considering he has no practice on the back up car. Just set it up and go kick ***!!

Mine was when the late Davey Allison and Kyle Petty crashed coming to the checkers.Davey won and his car went to victory lane and he went to the hospital.
And the "pass in the grass" with Waltrip.

I don't have a favorite memorized like you, but I like that due to the nature of the race (only winning counts, and no points are rewarded regardless of finishing position), drivers often make crazy and reckless moves not seen in other races, they totally go for it! It causes more wrecks, but honestly that adds more to the excitement.

2002 when Newman won the Open, and the Main :D
Also, 2004 (I believe) when Gordon and lots of others wrecked in turns 1 and 2. I was in the stands right in front of wear Gordon wrecked :P
