I believe I need it but don't want to go to the doctor just for a prescription. Is it legal to buy in the US without one or foreign countries. Thanks.

The previous responders are correct. A schedule II drug can only be legally obtained by a written prescription. A doctor cannot just call it into the pharmacy or OK a refil. Electronic transmission has only partly been approved by some state pharmacy boards.

You probably could find a source, but the possession would be illegal, a federal crime, and more expensive.

See you doctor. It's cheaper in the long run.

The other responders are indeed correct. Also keep in mind that if and when you get a prescription from your doctor you have to go in once a month so that the doctor can give you your next prescription..In other words there are no refills. I dont actually see the doctor when I pick mine up but I do have to go to the office once a month to pick up my prescription.
The only way around it that I know of is if your insurance offers mail order on medications.

It is not over-the-counter so it must be gotten with a prescription. Perhaps you should discuss your concerns with your doctor over the phone.

Not in the US. It's a schedule 2 drug, meaning it has a high susceptibility for abuse.
