They are considered a sect of Christianity. However, their roots are full of error. Why else did they burn other Christians for just wanting to interpret the Latin Bible into English and German? For example, William Tyndale was tried on a charge of heresy in 1536 and condemned to the stake for translating the New Testament into the common man's English. Tyndale was burned alive on 6 October 1536.

The word Christian has taken on a very broad meaning in today's age. To be a Christian is to follow Christ and his teachings. To be a Christians is too realize that Christ is the head of the church. Catholics claim that the Pope is the head of the church but last time I checked, you cannot have two heads and one body.

The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch a congregation of the church of Christ in AD. 33. When the Catholic religion was founded, some 300-400 years later, many of the teachings of the first century church were changed to please man.

To be a Christian is to follow Christ not the Pope. Jesus taught baptism by water (immersion), he did not teach infant baptism, He did not command us to worship idols or saints, He did not command us to use musical instruments in the worship service. He did tell us not to call our preachers and leaders Father and he did predict that many would fall away from the true faith and follow traditions of men, which He condemns.

Read the article in the source and ask yourself, do Catholics follow the Bible and Christ?

Catholics are part of a particular Christian Church. Some Protestants claim that Catholics are not really Christians, but most of them have a flawed understanding of Catholicism that they were taught by Catholic-phobic people instead of by real Catholics.

no! way different beliefs, catholics at least in the Latino world believe more and worship Mary, as for Christians believe more in Jehovah, Jesus , and the holy spirit ( the holy trinity) and catholics worship man made idols , when the bible clearly says not to do so .... if u ask me Catholicism is the fake-st religion in the world, and the reason why its the biggest is because they allow anything and all u have to do to be forgiven, is light a candle for Mary or one of the thousands of man-made statues they have, .... or confess to a priest (only human and sinner just like the rest of us) which the bible says NOT to do, ...........come on people don't be so ignorant there is only one mediator between god and men.....................JESUS... not the the priest down the street , NOT Mary (who by the way should be respected, cause she gave birth to Jesus....................BUT NOT WORSHIPED ) , and don't be stupid and try to say Catholicism is the right one just cause its majority, and the richest, **(why not give all those billions and billions of dollars just in the Vatican alone to the poor??? just like Jesus said??? cause they don't care..... they rather make a nice big cathedral to attract more dummies to give them money every Sunday, so THEY can get all the money u give for feeling guilty to get richer, Ha ! Ha! Ha! u dammed fools...........

Catholics are the original Christians and are the most numerous of all the Christian denominations. They are by far he richest being one of the largest land and real estate owners in the world. The art collection and antiquities in the Vatican alone are worth more than the sum total assets of most other Christan sects.

Catholics are Christians. Yes.

I think you mean Catholic as opposed to Protestant.

Two distinctly different types of Christianity.

What are you talking about? How can you not know that Catholicism was the original branch of Christianity? Don't you live in this world?

The Protestants split from Christianity in the 1500's. They DO NOT have a monopoly on Christianity, as much as they like to claim otherwise.

catholics, protestants and eastern orthodox share many stunning truths

individuals in each of those groups may have saving faith or may not

of course the catholic church is culturally Christian but whether an individual if glorifying God leaning on the work of Jesus on the cross believing for eternal life... or ... leaning on his own works .. isa different story
