The only truly effective "boycott" scenario that is going to work on the "pricing game" with oil --- is to completely STOP buying altogether from the majors --- ie Exxon and Mobil -- they are the "price setters" within the market and until they feel the absolute THUMP of the consumer anger -- they will simply sit back and weather a one day--- anything !!!

Only for the fools who believe not buying gas tomorrow (as opposed to not USING gas) will make any difference.

At the end of the business week, the bottom line will be the same amount of gas sold, same sales figures, same profits, etc.

There are a large amount of people participating in this "boycott", however it is going to be largely ineffective cause all those who did not buy gas on Tuesday will just buy it on Wednesday!
A more effective way to make a statement would be to just buy less gas over all, try to curb any unnecessary driving and carpool whenever possible!
These fat cat rich oil Barron's have so much money in their coffers, one day of protest is not going to convince them of anything!

We need a bike or take public transportation to work day. Not buying gas for a day wont work since everyone will just have to go through the inconvenience of waiting in line and buying the next day.

Evidently a ton of people are, but it is the most idiotic idea I have ever heard. One day of protesting does not create enough of a supply surplus to drastically drop gas prices. I suggest those of you falling for these read up on supply and demand.

I haven't bought gas in like 2 weeks. Not gonna be any different tomorrow.... for me at least.

If this 'plan' really wants to work the way people invision it to, they need to boycott gas for a few months. lol. :-)

Yes, and its not to create a surplus. Its to cut into the profits of the oil companies that are overcharging for something they pay nickels a gallon for. We have tons of oil, and the only reason we pay such high prices is because they can.
