Im LDS too, but remember that you have the ability to make your own choices. This is called agency. Just remember that whatever choices you make, you have to live with the consequenses, good or bad.

they don't "control your mind" persay

they just teach you things that aren't actually true, and eventually these 'learned behaviors' become your beliefs

and sometimes its very hard for people to 'un-learn' these beliefs ... though fear, or manipulation, or the unknown, or whatever means the church is using these days to convert people
