find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

First off, do not try starving yourself. While it may seem to work it can damage the body greatly, and probably make you look worse. Tell your parents not to buy soda, chips and other snack foods and instead try alternative snacks such as fruits like apples and bananas (they can be surprisingly good). In the mornings, I'd suggest having thing like eggs or oatmeal and avoid sugary cereals. Water is also good to have throughout the day, and its hard to really get to much of it, considering most people don't get enough anyways. Keep in mind a good diet does not mean that you don't eat too much (well, that is a small part of it), but what you eat.

Remember to do regular exercise, and you could possibly join a team sport such as soccer or something, to help keep active.

also, you really only need to loose about 10-20 pounds, at the most. Don't over do it.

Eat Veggies, grilled skinless chicken breasts, and grilled fish.

Cross training is really a great way to go.

Sunday - Try running a mile then walking a mile. If you can't do the full mile running that is fine. Push as far as you can.

Monday - Run .10 mile sprints 5 times. Cool down between each. Jog/speed walk .5 mile.

Tuesday - Ride a stationary bike for 45 minutes. Then do 35 of each.

Sit ups
Crunches
Bicycle Sit ups

Wednesday - Take off and let your body heal.

Thursday - Run again. Same as Monday. Push as best you can.

Friday - Weight Training. Work on your upper boddy and lower body.

Saturday - Take off.

you shouldn't have to lose 30lbs. I don't know what the average weight is for an 8th grader, but i think 30 is too much to lose! You'll end up looking anorexic and that is not attractive at all!! All you have to do is eat well and exercise. That's all i can say. Oh, and you have to have a positive attitude. Don't feel horrible about yourself, you never know what drastic measures you might take. Be positive ALL the time and soon you will see results! If you have to, go see a dietician. Please don't starve yourself though, you're not even fully developed yet! You are still A kid!!!!

I think your meal plan sounds great! Cutting out soda is one of the smartest things you can do! The amount of food sounds like just the right amount too. If mom cooks one of your favorites though remember to only eat 1 plate. I know that is tricky when mom's cookin is really good.

Getting exercise is very important. If you can find fun things to do outdoors with your friends or get involved in a summer sport you won't even realize your exercising.

Good Luck, and remember if you go of course it is not the end of the world, just get right back on.
