The path to inner peace is not simple or short. You cannot just wake up one day and decide you are going to have inner peace from that point forward. It is a process, a journey that needs to be appreciated every step of the way. You need to be willing to let go and accept your full spectrum of emotions. You need to be ready to step outside the box you have allowed yourself to be put into and start from scratch, getting to know yourself all over again and be willing to make mistakes. And most importantly, you have to realize that only you have control over your emotional responses and reactions and they can be changed for the better.
Once you become aware of ways you can improve how you live your life, you can begin true transformations. These transformations are paradigm shifts or evolutions of the mind, spirit and soul. Once you really change your ways to be in alignment with your true self, you will never go back, just like a tadpole to a frog or a caterpillar to a butterfly. you can also own your admirations. This means all the things you admire or maybe are even jealous of in others, you have in yourself also. Maybe you have always admired the guy next door for his ease on the basketball court, yet he practices every day and disciplines himself. You know deep down if you did that too, you could be just as good. You can choose to realize this is where your jealousy comes from, and use it to change yourself through your new self awareness or sit around in bitterness and jealousy, denying your own undeveloped talents.
Always be happy with what you got,” and live in the here and now, and cease worrying about thing’s which are beyond the power of your will,
I wish you all the best, and good luck xx

Thank you for asking this question, as the responses are very funny. It's always good to end the day with a laugh or at least a smile.
If you've ever really been dressed in leaves singing in a field, looking at your hand, with 4 kids and a husband drinking beer with his huge gut watching sports - you have already reached peace and harmony.
As I am a man - it is guaranteed I can not follow your path to peace and harmony. So I am destined for a different path.
Continued Peace to you and your kids and husband. (Hopefully you've bought a house?? Alba isn't known as the Tahiti of the North.)

For gods sake go and hug a tree or something, better still go a live in a farking field, dress in leaves, take lots of LSD and giggle at your hand for hours on end.

Have a nice day - acually don't have a nice day, slap yourlself and get a grip on reality - life sucks balls - get a helmet.

I'd like to tell you that it'll get better when you get older - but it wont. Wait till you've got a shitty job, a massive mortgage, a husband with a beer gut and a penchant for farting loudly, 4 screaming snot nosed kids and a migraine - then try finding bloody peace and harmony - you'll be finding Prozac instead.

EDIT: to the poster above - you should join her.

AHHHH that explains a lot :) you have my sympathy in that case.

Personally, I find meditation helpful and gain much insight into peace and harmony from reading materials written by the Dalai Lama. If you are unsure of what spiritual path is best for you, I would recommend doing some research on Belief Net:
http://www.beliefnet.com/
You can find which faiths best fit your personal beliefs and feel right for you. I wish you the best of luck my friend.

Hi Pangel,
I wonder why you posted this?
Surely for some other reason than thinking that you'll get what you ask for!
Everything that we resist - we give power to.

PS
I don't mean we should never resist anything. But, if we are to resist, it is wise to do it from a place of equanimity.

To attain peace one must first be a peace with God. To attain that one must repent and have their sins forgiven.

"Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon." Is 55:6,7

Having done so through faith in Jesus Christ, it is written, "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." Rom 5:1

Then having become a Christian it is written, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Php 4:6,7
