it is a very good idea to cut out or at least cut back on the junk food but to eat nothing all day then have one meal when you get in is not healthy.
you will end up getting to hungry and will be likely to become so overwhelmed with hunger that you go on a binge of all the food you are trying to steer clear of.
a better way to lose weight would be to change your lifestyle so that you are eating healthy foods for your meals. it is also said that eating 5-6 small meals is better for losing weight than 3 large meals. some ideas would be a healthy breakfast such as muesli, porridge or egg on wholemeal toast (these foods are good for you and help keep hunger at bay for a few hours. for lunch such things as soup, sandwiches with healthy fillings or beans on toast. for dinner jacket potato, or a pasta based meal with low cal sauce. in between these meals have healthy snacks of fruit, veg, seed or nuts or combination of these.
it may seem like you are eating alot but the quality of the food is much better and contains alot less fat than junk food.
also i have to say that to help speed up any weight loss is to partake in more exercise so that yu burn off excess calories which in turn leads to weight loss.
you dont see an over weight athlete do you. this is because they exercise and follow a healthy diet.
you shouldn't be concerned with losing weight to quickly. a healthy amount to lose depending on how overweight you are is between 2-3lb per week and a bit more if you are very over weight.
i would suggest before you go on any diet as such you should consult your doctor who will give you advice and support if you are serious about getting fit, slim and healthy.
i urge you not to do what you are currently doing. it will not be good for you and you could end up losing out on vital minerals and vitamins in a quest to get thin. it is not worth getting ill to be thin.
hope this has answered your question.

you've got some good advice here but, what i will add is that breakfast really is important. It gets your metabolism going (starts your system working - digesting the food but once it has run out of that it will start working on stored energy - fat), which is why people often say that they feel hungry all day if they eat breakfast so don't! This is bad as you have already been told, your body goes into starvation mode. As the body doesn't know whe ot will be fed next, any subsequent food is stored more quickly for use at a later time in case it doesn't get any more energy for a long time.
Small healthy meals is the way forward. Snacking is ok but make it fruit or veg!
cutting down on carbohydrates (potatoes, pasta bread, rice etc) and also not eating them in the evening when you are less active will help too. Eating smaller amounts of complex carbohydrates (brown bread, wholemeal pasta and rice etc) during the day will help keep your energy levels up (and therfore make you feel good!)which again will help you stick to the diet. There are loads of good diets to follow - the most important thing is to find one that has things in it that you like and will be bothered to make or can easily obtain. Dieting is simple but the facts are hard and keeping to it harder. The only reason for putting on weight is from consuming more calories than you are burning off through work or exercise!!
Make sure that you really want to do this, do some proper research into different diets that are available find one that suits you and stick to it!!
Excersising will not only help the process but lift your mood too as it releases happy chemicals in the brain!
Set realistic goals and treat yourself when you achieve them.
I wish you all the best with it and well done.

If you just cut out the fatty foods that you have been eating and have 3 normal healthy meals a day it will have better results, it wont make you loose loads of weight over night but when you loose weight quickly you have more chance of putting it back on. Just eating once a day stops your metabolism working properly.
I went on a baked potato diet, I was having a normal breakfast and a jacket spud for lunch and evening meal, there are quite a few things you can have on a jacket spud like baked beans with Worcestershire sauce in, or beans with curry or Chile in, my favourite was bolognase. good luck with your diet, try not to loose to much to quick.

Is this really what you eat on a daily basis? If so, try this as your new diet instead:
6-8 bags of pretzels or air popped popcorn
2-3 granola bars (not chocolate dipped) or small muffins
1-2 homemade sandwichs or subs with veggies
Lunch consisting of any lower-fat menu option (wrap with side salad, 1-2 slices veggie pizza, etc.)
The trick is to slowly replace what you are used to eating with similar, but healthier, food choices. Once you've made this transition, you can start adding in other aspects of "dieting" like portion control and exercise. If you try to change too many things too quickly, you are setting yourself up for failure. Also, drink your water! Quite often people misinterpret thirst as hunger.
It's slow going, but it works. Trust me. I've lost over 120lbs using this method so far.

breakfast.....have something with oats in it. this is a good longlasting food so you wont feel hungry til lunchtime. lunch would be a good time for the jacket potato or maybe some veg soup and a sandwich, at night have a sensible meal. trust me, cutting out the cr*p on it's own will help you drop some weight. anything that gives drastic results will be the start of years of miserabe you yo dieting. safe yourself the hardship and do it the sensible way first time round.

you will lose water weight and muscle and dramatically slow down your metabolism plus you will end up having higher body fat percentage and gain back more than lost as soon as start eating normal again.
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

That is far too harsh and will make you feel ill. You'll jack it in as quick as you started it I'm afraid. Just eat plenty of veggies, no fatty rubbish and do lots of exercise and you should see some dramatic results pretty quick. The exercise is the key. I find that running is the best for losing weight. A few friends of mine found that eating lots of small healthy meals instead of one big one each day helped them to lose weight. But I can't stress enough how important exercise is - my dad eats loads of food and stays slim by doing an awful lot of exercise and he's over 50!! So if he can do it, anyone can.

Good, 1000-1750 energy is a huge range and typically underestimated. Most persons do. If you are doing that pastime and consuming 1750 energy per day, you are usually shedding about 1 pound per week, but adding muscle which offsets that component. Add pushups to your crunches. Consume bulkier meals like tons of inexperienced veggies, cheese, nuts and stuff. On the way to aid slow down/stability your urge for food. The "healthful" cereal isn't this kind of first-rate notion. An excessive amount of grain very first thing in the morning....

The day you start eating normal again, you will gain ALL the weight you lost back and then some.
If you put your body into starvation mode, it will store every extra calorie it can.
Be reasonable. There are no quick fixes, and I'm sure you know that. I fyou want to REALLY lose weight and keep it off, you need to start a real diet that consists of around 1200 calories a day.
