I've been on this Yahoo answers things for just a couple of weeks. I love Nascar and I like talking about it. But in only a couple of weeks I've noticed that most, not all, people really don't know as much as they think they do, or what they think they know is totally incorrect. I just read someones answer to another question that stated that most Nascar tracks have over 250,000 seats? What? Are you freaking kidding me? Indy is the ONLY track with 250,000 seats, and it no where near sells out anymore. So my question is, where in the hell do most of you get your Nascar news and information? Barber/Beauty shop? Water cooler? Bus stop? Bobby's sister told Linda that she heard from Cooter that Billy Ray told Johnny about?? Where ever it is you're getting your news and info from, I am staying totally clear of it. I like my facts straight thank you.

I think a lot of NASCAR fans only watch to either see their favorite driver win, or their most hated driver crash. They don't really give a rat's a** about the rest of it so they just repeat misinformation they've been told without actually learning about it.

OK I'll cop up, I'm the guilty misinformer, or perhaps just a little over zealous in saying most tracks have over 250,000 seats, maybe most don't have that many stand seats, but that wasn't counting all the RV and Tent campers either, TX has over 5,000 spots for RV's in the infield and that is accurate), but good grief, if you're looking for 100% accuracy stick to Wikipedia. Most of us are only looking for opinions and on some occasions facts and I've found most people do give accurate information, so SORRY for my wrong answer! Am I forgiven now or do I need to stand in the corner?

I have been a Nascar fan ever since I was 9yrs. old and I'll be 30 this year. I watch every t.v. show that is about Nascar. The Speed Channel is #1 in my home. I don't claim to be an expert about Nascar, but people that I know that have questions about Nascar ask me. None of them have complained about me giving them wrong info. That's just me. If there's a question (and not an opinion question) that I know the answer to I will answer; if I'm not sure I don't. That's just me! As far as the seating # goes; frankly I don't care. If I get one of the seats I'm happy. All I know is there have always been thousands of people at the races I have went to and have watched on t.v. Yes, I like my facts straight; also. (Watch the Speed Channel usually starting on Fridays and Nascar.com helps; too) Thanks!!

Lets take Indy. You said 250,000 seats; and that is true. 250,000 SEATS. They also have an RV section, camping sections, suites, etc...., Now, I was watching the American Grand Prix last year which is held at Indy and with the SEATS, Infield Camping, Suites, and Crews there where over 400,000 people there.

Pocono has the third largest population in Pennsylvania when the NEXTEL Cup rolls in. over 76,000 SEATS. However attendance can reach the 100,000 mark with the infield camping and camping just off turns 1 and 2.

Talladega has over 140,000 SEATS; but when I was there, there was a huge infield with thousands if not tens of thousands of fans in there.

I guess someone was counting after the consumption of adult nourishment.
But I did hear on "XM" a caller ask "How could the police arrest 14 people at Talladega with 200,000 fans in the seats"
Last time I checked there were only 160,000 seats.

I'm sixty-one years old. I've been watching stock car racing since before there was even A Nascar. Don't put everyone who answers questions on here into a single category. I probably know far more than you do, bubba.
