find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

You should try a weight routine in addition to your cardio. Not only will it help tone your upper body, it'll strengthen your bones and build more muscle. The moe muscle you have, th emore calories your body inherently burns. Therefore, the more lean you are, the more efficient your body becomes!
If you don't have access to weights, keep up with your pushups and situps. Find other non-weight ways to build muscle. You don't have to do all of this the same day. You can run one day, and lift another.
Also, you'll need to change your eating habits and cut back on fatty, high calorie foods and alcoholic beverages.
Remember you don't have to make all these changes at once. If for the next couple weeks you want to spend time getting use to a new workout routine, focus on that. Once you get comfortable at it, add another change, like to your diet.
It takes hard work, but it's worth it. Good luck!

DUDE!!!! If what you say is true, good job man. I am losing weight myself and the best way to lose upper body fat is to run and to eat less, but eat healthy. I found a good diet recipe.
1 cup white rice (not fried)
1 scrambled egg
1 chicken breast.
Put it all together in a bowl and add some seasonings. I like soy sauce and buffalo sauce with it, just a little though. The rice provides good carbs to help with energy and you have a lot of protein to build muscle instead of fat. If you do sit ups and push ups you will gain muscle, so your weight might go up at first due to the increase in muscle mass so don't get frustrated.
I used to be 6'1'' and 230 pounds, and now I am the same height (duh) but 200 pounds in about 1.5 months. Its a lot of hard work, but worth it.
Drink lots of water too, this will flush out the toxins in your body. Also, don't drink non-diet soda as this will increase your calories immensely.

Eat smaller potions but more of them. So if you normally ate 25 nuggets and now eat 10, cut the 10 in half, eat 5 now and five an hour or two later. This keeps your metabolism going and when your metabolism is running faster, you burn more energy.
I always prefer to do any weight exercises before cardio, I can always do more if I save the cardio for last.

My boyfriend is in the same boat. The Atkins diet worked for him in the past 3 days he has lost 12 lbs. He is as tall as you and almost as heavy. (I dont think he is heavy but he does). He doesnt do any physical excersize which I think he still should. If you do both of these things you should be down to 240 in no time. There are strict guidlines to Atkins and you should read everything closely. You might even want to see a dr before getting involved incase of any risk of high cholesterol be cause all the Atkins dieters can eat in the beginning is eggs, meat, cheese, milk, and thats about it. So be carefull but it does work.
P.S.
Please dont make yourself sick!!!! Eat small meals all day to get your metabolism sped up if your going to be binging its no good.

Diet is key, not exercise. Go slow with the exercise, continue doing it, but eat like 1/3 of what you normally eat.
