I went to a tanning booth today(i dont go often,so dont yell!) and the way the booth was designed, inside the initial door that closes off the unit, there was no door to close once you were in the actual tanning part.Basically, there were three walls with the lights and then an open wall that led into the changing area of the unit.I had my purse with some birth control pills and other medication in the changing area.Because there was no door to close, would the UV affect the pills that were in my purse? If I take them, will I basically be ingesting UV radiation? Please any info will be appreciated.

I have not read any data on this kind of issues, there should not be harm teachnically since the tanning booths are using the same wavelength of the sunlight which does not damage medications in purses as long as they are not exposed for long hours. just avoid these things in the future or simply step out of put your belongings aside, good luck
