Ok now that this may be Jr's last year in the #8 I'm more determined than ever to make it to the Texas or Phoenix race.
(Yes patheticly I've never been to a race)

I have a few questions, so if you can help a rookie out I'd appreciate it.

1. My best friends have a 5th wheel so they suggested we go in that, but I'm concerned that if we're not on the outskirts (like right against the track) we won't be able to see anything, even if we climb up on the roof of the RV.
A)Will we still need to buy stand tickets?
B)When they say the price is $150. is that per day and what does that get you?
C)What kind of hook ups do they offer?
2. Considering the price of gas, would it be better to fly to TX and stay with my brother ( He lives in Kennedale, TX) and watch the race from the stands?
3. Which is better, the Texas or the Phoenix race track?
4.How much spending money do you estimate we need?
Given the choice would you go RVing or watch from the stands?

Help a fellow fan please

We go to PIR in Avondale,Az. for the April race and the 9th race of the Chase...have been for many many years...I like PIR track ,but we have our own 5th wheel and it is the "Only Way To Go"!! You can see everything from what is fampous at PIR called "The Hill"...only costs 25.00 to sit on it...we usually and always have reserved seats, in the "Petty" section at PIR...turn 4 is the best...and we ahve also stayed in the "In Field" to....We usually spend close to $600.00,and thats because I do all my Christmas shopping for all my NASCAR friends there...Our 5th wheel is the best, you cook out and meet so many great people...we take our 5th wheel but we set in the Grandstands....tickets vary in price, and the VIP & Pit Passes are so well woth the money...each track is different...Have been to "Homestead" last year for the 10th race in the Chase and its cheaper than our track out here. The infield costs about $1800.00 for the 4 day event to park there...and the RV side which is great to is around $600.00 for the weekend...and you have sewer and we even have a "Bashas Grocery Store" so you have all you need....Im partial to our track, and the Nov. race is awesome...so was the April race ..."Under the Lights".....hope I helped!

I go to both phoenix races in motorhome. The April night race is the best. You still need tickets grandstand tickets are about $55 OK seats Hillside sucks. Never use hook up sites but the unreservered rv parking is $50 for the weekend. Track is so so not big enough for high speeds or small enough for alot of rubbing. Its like a big party before and after race. Almost everyone is cool. I would reccommend trying it once.
