I'm such a worry wart. I get so depressed sometimes because of the stupidest things. I constantly worry about what kind of silent diseases and sicknesses I could have. When we study certain diseases in school, some of the few symptoms for me are fimiliar (or at least my crazy mind says they are) and I automatically diagnose myself. I get scared to death of the results of the illnesses I diagnose myself with, and that's how I get depressed. I can tell you one thing, that going to the doctor everytime I get paranoid isn't cheap- and I don't want to do that. I have a good life, and don't want to be put on drugs because I'm so down. My mom says I'm crazy because I always feel this way, but how can I not? So, if any of the Yahoo! Answers experts would like to make me feel any better about my obsessive problem, that would be great.

This is a classic sign of anxiety, depression & parnoia..as well as some personality disorders.
Trust me; been there done that, and we condition our minds to believe that we actually do have these symtoms..it controls our mind consistatenly. Honestly, you should see some type of therepist or doctor, it will only get worse. Stress, is a leading cause of death and illness. So many people are believed that they are sick etc...but the truth is that it is stress. Stress can control you mentally and phsyically. IT is best to seek help before you make yourself horribly sick...good luck!

You could have an anxiety disorder or some form of obsessive compulsive disorder. Talking to a therapist would probably be the most helpful thing. He or she could help figure out what's going on and what the best way to deal with it is.
In the meantime, there are a few things that you can do to help yourself. Try taking 10 deep, slow breaths when you start to worry. It might help to talk to a family member or friend about what's going through your mind to help bring some perspective. If there's no one around, try writing about what your feeling. Remember that it's very unlikely that you're getting any of the diseases that you're thinking about, and keep reminding yourself of that.
I hope you find a therapist who can help. Remember that a lot of people have problems like this (including me). As for medications, try talking to a therapist first. He or she can help you decide whether you might need them or not. It's likely that a little therapy is all you'll need. Good luck!

i know this might sound crazy but volunteer at hospital or join a program that goes out and helps people who are sick
stick with the program for as long as you can
while your helping people and seeing whats going on and what its like to be sick an put your self in a situation where you realize that you can't catch what someone else has and you see how some people have to live with a sickness you'll soon be thankful you aren't in the same situation

your mother calling you CRAZY is terrible, but my father always told me that there are 3 sides to every story, yours mine and the truth. Instead of calling you things your mother, who must be tired of hearing how sick you are, should make an appointment for family counseling. You sound like hypochondriac and your mother sounds abusive. Any mother who doesn't take care of a problem like yours(unless your age alows you to take care of yourself). Either way, go for help, you're on a down hill road and we all have the right to enjoy our lives. Find a good Doctor a Therapist as you might need medication and a Therapist to help work thru the problem with you.

It sounds like you have either Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), General Anxiety Disorder, or another disorder where you always think you are sick, but I can't think of the name. I know that you don't want to be on drugs, but sometimes we need to be. I have General Anxiety Disorder and I am on Zoloft. I can choose to go off of it at anytime, but I feel better when I am on it. Zoloft also helps with OCD and depression. It is perfectly fine to need help sometimes.

Hi sweetie. We all go through this. Especially if we are stressed about other things. You could read up on OCD, talk to a guidance counselor, a pastor at church, or a mentor. They might be able to give you some coping skills.

one of the signs of depression/anxiety disorder is the constant fear of impending death... that certainly wouldn't make you crazy but you may want to talk to a counsler or something, sometimes all you need is someone who will ask the right questions to make you see things in a different light.

Ask yourself "what do I get from thinking this way? What do I avoid if i think this way? What terrible thing will happen if I start being more rational? What if you had to quit worrying about dying and start living.?

There's actually a name for the paranoia of illnesses, and it's pretty common. Look it up, there is a medical term for it.
