Once a month a client buys our office bagels. He always sends plain cream cheese & salmon flavored cream cheese along with them. We appreciate the kindness, but none of us likes salmon cream cheese.

Should we continue to let these tubs of cream cheese stock up in our fridge until the expiration date and throw them out when expired? (Be food wasters?) or

Should we let the client know?

some one should speak up. your client is spending money to show his thanks, I'm sure he would rather spend it one some
thing that would be eaten and not wasted. u seem to be polite enough, why don't you quietly tell him

Gently let him know that you really appreciate the gesture, but the flavor doesn't really appeal to you all. He should appreciate not having to spend more money on stuff no one's going to eat. Emphasize that the plain is just fine.

I agree about trying to swop flavors, that way it doesn't sound rude. However, if he says 'no, there aren't' then you have a problem - would suggest chucking them out, fish that goes off is not good news!
