because maybe like me, you have been hurt along the way, and maybe like myself, i continued to get hurt-things always went wrong-and as i looked around, people who could care less about worrying about god, always seemed to land on top or get ahead.
of course being human, of flesh, and not being overall a divine being-i always said "not fair". because we are considered in this world of the "flesh"-but the bible says we are also of the spirit. the spirit because at the time of jesus' death, blood and water poured out of his side at the time of his crucifixion. the blood was to cleanse the world of sin and open the gates of heaven, and the water was the holy spirit poured out to his followers.
as followers, yes, you are one as well. if you were not, you would not be in turmoil. as followers, we are part flesh and part spirit. (the soul is not what i am referring to) the fact that you are struggling with your faith is showing that you are at a pivotal time in your life as far as god is concerned. the spirit within you is fighting to stay alive, but the flesh is also fighting to stay alive as well. the flesh is "of this world", therefore the flesh wants things of this world. it wants to soar free to feel earthly happiness, to feel sadness, anger, animosity, revenge, greed, lust, etc. so as you can see, the flesh is really a part of the devil. the devil became flesh when he got kicked out of heaven.
so back to your pivotal moment. right now you are probably going through tough times maybe, or undecided times, or lonely times-something is going on. and so the flesh part and the spirit part are both competing for the possesion of your soul. the good thing is that you still keep questioning your faith. so that means that you really are a very faithful person. its kind of like this. a big strong healthy soldier goes out to battle, strapped to the tee with guns, and safety vests, and with training to back him up. but during the battle, he gets shot. he no longer is that strong confident soldier. he is hurt, bleeding, etc, and all he can think of is "am i gonna make it?" "how bad is it". just because he has those thoughts does not mean that he no longer is that same strong soldier, he can't be. he is hurt. what does he do? give up and die, or try to hold on, ask his questions, and wait for help?. that is what is going on with you right now. you are not without faith.
so i will stop now. if you need more, let me know.
take care.

Yes, I find it very hard. Like when everything is going okay in my life, then I can believe there is a God & that he's looking out for me....but when things go wrong, I think "If there is a God then why did he let this happen?" and that's when any faith which I may have starts to slip... I wish I could give you some help, but I honestly have no idea. I just wish God would be a little more evident in people's day to day lives if he wants us to believe in him...

The first thing to do in this case is to find out for yourself if there is really a God, not easy to do but once you do it you'll know that it was way worth it, faith and Knowledge are to very different things, your faith in something can change from one second to the next, but once you know something for sure it would never change. I wish I can save you the work in finding out about the existence of God, this is something that has to hapen between you and Him, I know that there is a God and that He loves me and that he send His son to die for me so that one day I can return to live with Him again, althoug I may not always act according to what he would like me to act, I know that He is there and that is a truth that cannot be denied.

This is a good sign. It shows that you are capable of thinking for yourself.
Basically people follow the religion they were born into and have been immersed/brainwashed in.
Consider your self fortunate that you now have the opportunity to set your mind free.
Read Richard Dawkins "The God Delusion"
You will find it hard to believe that anyone believes in God
Good Luck with your new life.

The question is Faith and faith is merly a constuct of beliefs that have no evidence.
if you belive then you still HAVE faith, its just a little shaken, yes?
begin by accepting the difference between GOD,the CHURCH,and people trying to abuse either to their own ends
The rest should sort itself out...

I believe it is hard because as humans we want every piece of evidence we can find we want something that we can touch and feel. You must just step out in faith and believe. I recently have had this problem

Religion and church is something man made up to make money. God is within you. Look there. You will find him some day.

Well, i think i know what you mean in that its hard to believe sometimes. I think its because its hard to believe what you havent seen or heard physically, or the "unknown." Other then going to church you could try praying, spiritual chat rooms, or even chatting with your preist or pastor.
