The sins of the father's are visited on the children. Seems God approves of holding grudges?

This is from the Bible. It does not state that God passes the sin on to the children. But then again it doesn't say he does not. It's a matter of interpretation.

not at all.... in maccabes you can also read that the sins of the father can be purged b the children.

somethings that our father, grandfather, etc can travel down to the children - mistakes in their path of life, thus having a negative impact on the child'ss future - however with faith all things can be changed! look at a parent who lives a negative lifestyle and brings the children up with loose morals or other negative teachings - these children choose their paths and can choose the same or can better themselves.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but where does it say that GOD visits the sins of the father on the children? The verse is simply stating a fact, that children often bear the consequences of their father's sins. Nowhere does it state that God is the cause of these consequences.

NO, that means that they will inherit by genes the same sin

We do not have to yield to that sin, so therefore it is broken
