I believe this was attempted before...it was called the Inquisition. Better to just focus on oneself.

A true Christian is indeed a child of God, a part of God’s true family, and one who has been given new life in Christ. The mark of a true Christian is love for others and obedience to God’s Word (1 John 2:4; 1 John 2:10).

Sometimes, works or deeds apart from faith are not enough (James 2:14-25 NIV). One can do good, charitable deeds, but distorted faith. One can have proper faith, but perverted deeds. A true Christian is consistent in both faith and deeds, according to God's requirements to remain in His favor.

In my opinion and experience, the glow of the Holy Spirit exposes the authentic ones. The feedback I get from non-believers cannot be pinpointed in one descriptive, but goes along the lines of "... there's something different about you?.... you look vibrant and radiant" and its not the way I do my hair or the clothes I wear (the superficial stuff). Believers notice right away.

there is no way to distinguish an authentic Christian. Christians come in all different shapes and size, the have different beliefs and conviction. the only way to tell is if they have accepted Jesus Christ ans lord ans savior, and only them and Jesus know that,
if you are asking what character should a Christian emulate, then the answer is love, if we as Christians walk in and show love to all we meet, then this is the behavior that shows that we aare truly followers of Christ.

A true, mature Christian would walk the talk. Their character would reflect not holding grudges, showing gentleness and kindness to others, not be pushy, feel others' pain, not hurt anyone or anything, let people see your walk, show mercy to others, try to maintain calmness, don't verbally hurt others, help others learn about Jesus, spread the Word, maintain the faith, enjoy God's creation, assist others, and minimize crudeness and arrogance.

They would act like a Christian.

Have you ever heard the saying "Actions speak louder than words?" You can usually tell if a person is for real or not by how they act...the Bible even says this. "Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them." (Matthew 7:20) It's easy to talk the talk, not so easy to walk the walk. You can tell if someone is a Christian by how they act. Are they Christlike? Or do they act just like normal people who don't have Jesus in their lives? That is the true distinguishing factor. However, it is not for us to judge a person's heart.

Jesus said anyone who professes belief in Him. Unfortunately a lot Christians have become polluted with our own thoughts and desires instead of the teachings of Christ. Only God can judge a man's heart, but I also know that Jesus said anyone who would deny Him before men is not worthy of the Kingdom

The mark of a true Christian is the love that they show for others. They are the ones who will go out of their way to help others, with no expectation of reward.

If someone claims to follow Christ, but avoids helping others (no matter the excuse) on a regular basis, I would have my doubts about their sincerity.

Mt 10:34 - Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

Ephesians 6:10-18 -10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh F18 and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Because Christians fight for God. When we face vile, evil things, we stand out because we resist those things. This is put before us by the Holy Spirit, who brings us the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.

Ever meet a Christian that refused to rebuke Satan in the Name of Jesus?....then you know the false Christian.

Judging is not your job. We need to love one another and help where we can.

Christians are not better than others or even good, we are just better off than we used to be...praise the Lord.

We all fall short from the glory of God. But He an help us overcome our mishaps. : )
