I am a working professional and want to get my nose pierced but it's against company policy. Is it something that I can do during the week or does it swell? I want to be able to put a retainer in it or a flesh colored earring...

It's going to be at least 6 months before you can take it out for any length of time. You can't change the jewelry for at least 8 weeks.

Solution: Get it pierced with a quartz retainer (acrylic is not appropriate for initial piercings). It won't be invisible, but it shouldn't be very noticable at all. Make sure to let your piercer know thats what you want, he/she may have to order the jewelry in for you.

a VERY VERY LONG TIME!! I had my nose pierced 4 times, This last time I paid the $$ and wet To the piercing place and got a good stud and still had a few probs. Also my daughter yanked it out several times while sleeping. OUCH. But I would pierce it and put a skin colored band aid over it at work, just cut a Little piece and place it over your piercing, I did it several times and it works good!!

it takes several weeks to heal enough for a retainer. the first one i had i changed to soon it got sore all the time from changing it. I ended up taking it out. The second time i got it done I waited 2 months to change it. I say dont do it until you have to the time to let it heal before putting in a retainer.

I would do it at time when you could leave it in for 2 months. I know there is a shop around here that sells tiny flesh colored studs, which would make it easier to hide. You may want to look into something like that.
