3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. 4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: 11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. 12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
Nice quote out of context. Every one who admits that Yeshua is the Mosiach is of the body.
For the non-Hebrew crowd:
Everyone who admits that Jesus is Christ is of the Body.

I didn't persecute you. I just told you that we didn't worship a dead guy on a stick. Frankly, I thought you were just another atheist trying to insult Christians. I guess, if you don't believe in one God, you are an atheist to us. I figure there is no talking to atheists about what we believe so I didn't bother. Regardless of you reasons, you WERE pretty insulting. If you don't want others to insult and/or persecute you, why would you do it to them? If not "The Golden Rule," how about Karma or "What goes around, comes around?"
A pagan is "One who adheres to a religion that does not acknowledge the God of Christianity, Judaism, or Islam." Since the bible is the holy book of Christians and to some extent Jews, it is speaking to us, not pagans. The first quotation speaks of the same 8 gifts of the Spirit but the uses of those gifts are many. It speaks nothing of not believing in the one, true God as pagans do. The second quotations speaks, perhaps, to Protestantism and the many ways Catholics and Protestants worship God, but not to those who profess non-belief in him.
I'd be more than happy to continue the conversation.

Dear Friend,
I cannot speak for those few (and very few) Christians who treated you unkindly. I am sorry that they had little to no control of their temper and insulted and persecuted you. May the Lord comfort you and change them to be more charitable.
I humbly beg you to take the time and read this answer. Know that I bear no insult towards you, but only wish to correctly inform you of what is the meaning of the passage you have chosen for your argument.
My friend you have misunderstood Paul in Cor. 12:4. You must read what was said before and after the statment you have chosen. In verses 2-3 he writes,
"You know that when you were pagans, you were enticed and led astray to idols that could not speak. Therefore, I want you to understand that no one speaking by the Spirit of God ever says, "Let Jesus be cursed!" and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord" except by the Holy Spirit."
Later you mis-wrote verse 4, which states, "now there are a variety of gifts, but the same Spirit." He did not write "Spirit (s)." However, this maybe a typo from you and is completely understandable. I do the same thing often myself and have to proof read often whatever I write.
Yet, what you must understand in this passage is that Paul is not talking to those of pagan religions. He is not condoning paganism nor believes God's spirit is in their beliefs and works. Paul is speaking to converts to Christianity who were formerly pagan. Now Paul is not saying paganism is okay or he would not write so vehemently against it (especially the idolatry associated with it) through out all of his letters. What he is doing is reminding the church in Corinth that no gift a Christian may have (e.g.) prophecies, tongues, preaching, etc. etc. does not give the Christian an exalted status. Each gift is at the service of the Church and the world. Also, he is emphasizing that such gifts do not come from any merit of the Christian, but is a purely an underserved gift to them. The gift is in and from God alone and is not theirs to do with as they wish. So, Paul is speaking only to Christians in how they should understand the power and grace of God in the body of Christ (the Church) and is not teaching that Paganism is okay and that God uses them as well to teach and evangelize. Paul's concern of the Church and the teaching of Christ is to Christians alone and is not about Paganism and the toleration of it within Christianity.
In order to understand Paul you must know his historical situation, his meaning, and then make a comment. So, be careful in how you interpret the Scriptures it may not be helpful in your argument.
I hope this has been helpful to you in understanding the writings of Paul and his meaning. There is more but we would need a year or so to discuss it all. May the Lord bless and keep you. May the light of His face shine upon you.
God's and your beast of burden

What is it that Jesus ever did or said that has you so hateful toward Him and all He taught and lived?
Also:
1 Corinthians 12 is speaking to a body of "believers" and not unbelievers such as yourself, professed. Therefore the gifts being spoken of are from the Holy Spirit that lives within the believers of Jesus, our Christ.
Additional thought: It appears that you are seeking answers, but perhaps only those answers that suit your preconcieved ideals. Let it be shared here that Proverbs states that, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom." This my friend is where your journey for wisdom, being truth, should begin.
Let it also be said that I do not worship a 'dead guy on a stick,' but my Lord, Jesus who has risen and sits at the right hand of the Father, alive and well for all eternity. ~Selah

You have got to be kidding me! You compare being flamed on YA to persecution? You use the term “dead guy on a stick” and expect respect; to be taken seriously?
My Bible says it is okay to be pagan? Then you quote a verse from a book that you don’t believe to convince me that your prattle is worth reading? Do you have any idea what 1 Cor 12 is talking about? Rhetorical question, don’t bother answering.
Why don’t you find something constructive to do with your time like study up on how to construct a question, write a paragraph and other sixth grade English material?

How you ask a question is as important as thequestion you ask. there is a bit of crudeness and possibley hatered in your questions. Try rewording them and ask again.
Religious tolerence is about respecting and tolerating other peoples views. It is very hard for people to understand how someone can believe in a different god. ANd it is a case that others are taught to convert those that are not like them. It is a great shame. No religion holds a monopoly on good morals. Each religion has good merit and weaknesses. There are no exceptions.
I think you are asking why is it wrong for you to believe one thing and I can't believe in my ways? Try asking in that manner.

You misunderstand what the word resurrection means. Jesus is not a dead guy. But resurrected from the dead on the 3rd day. He has ascended into Heaven from whence He came over 2,000 years ago. He sits at the right hand of the Father and all things are subject to Him whether you like it or not. He holds the keys to Heaven and Hell and is powerful beyond comprehension. This is the one spoken of in the Law of Moses and the Prophets of the Old Testament. The messiah of the Jews and the Savior of the world. Please give Him due respect. He deserves your utmost honor.

the bible says - the same Lord. you don't believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour so -- the rest is a mute point. there are diversities that that lord has given, IMO this is why there are various versions of the same Gospel rememberances - like the Ressurection. people are diversified and that is wonderful - a true gift from God. however if you don't believe the gifts are OF God, then yes, pagan doesn't fall into the rhealm.

I didnt answer your earlier stated question. You sound awful "happy" that the self proclaiming christians fell into your trap. The Word of God NOWHERE states that it is ok to be a pagan. Im not going to bother explaning the verses you quote, because you have already taken them to mean what you want them to. Keep reading, maybe you will understand the truth someday I hope.
