My favorite is stew. Pretty simple...you can do it on the stove...or, I do it fast and easy in my pressure cooker.
Cubed beef. Brown it in the bottom of your pan. Then add:
potatoes cubed (3 or 4)
Carrots sliced (3 or 4)
1 can green beans
A cup of frozen corn (or a can)
Onion sliced
Celery
Garlic
Salt and pepper
A squirt of ketchup or a can of stewed tomatoes
couple dashes of worshesteshire sauce
After done cooking thicken with corn starch.

Beef stew and beef pot pie use cubed pieces of beef.
Elena Molokhovets' classic cookbook (1861) gives the first known recipe for Govjadina po-strogonovski, s gorchitseju 'Beef Stroganov with mustard' which involves lightly floured beef cubes (not strips) sautéed, sauced with prepared mustard and bouillon, and finished with a small amount of sour cream: no onions, no mushrooms. A 1912 recipe adds onions and tomato paste and serves it with crisp potato straws, which are considered the traditional garnish in Russia.
I've linked a recipe for beef stroganoff, as well as beef pot pie and beef stew.

One pound of stewing beef, cubed
One pound of navy beans
Two or three potatoes, cubed.
One small or medium onion, chopped coarse.
Soak the beans over night to soften and clean.
Rinse in cold water to remove dirt from water.
Brown the beef on all sides
Put all ingredients into a large pot.
Cover with water.
Bring to boil.
Then simmer about 2 hours. Check for doneness
by squeezing a bean. It should be very soft.
Salt and pepper to taste.
My favorite additive is ketchup.
