Dont wear big clothes and also dont wear clothes that are too small or too tight - wear something that compliments your curves and fit wright.
Big prints will make you look bigger.
Wear dark clothes and have some brighter accents (e.g. black jacket, dark blue jeans and turquoise shirt underneath, earrings that go past your chin, pointy toe shoes)
Dont wear horizontal stripes - they make you look wider
Vertical stripes (fine ones look better) make you look taller
knee lenght skirts (short skirts or long skirts wont look good)
dont let any of clothing end at the biggest part (e.g. shirt that ends in the middle of your upper arm or top that ends in your waist if its not small)
long necklaces (chokers or very short ones will make your neck look shorter)

A good rule of thumb is really just wearing things that fit. People of any size look bigger when they wear clothes that are either too baggy or too tight.
And really, almost every big chain store has either a plus sized section or have bigger sizes on their website if not in their stores. Also there are stores like Torrid and Lane Bryant that cater to larger women, and their staff (as far as I can tell) are very very helpful when you don't know what you're looking for. Really, pick a style you like personally, and there will be a way for you to get it.
Good luck!

I too am a little chunky and find clothes that fit a little loose are a best fit. Wear something that best shows a great asset. Have great legs wear a short skirt, nothing too short such as a mini, have a great bust line? Wear a sweater or blouse that hugs your chest a little or barely shows cleavage,
If you hate your middle wear shirts and sweaters just at your hip line (4" below your belly button) but not too loose or you'll look bigger. Black is great for dates on the bottom half but keep your top 1/2 in a pastal or metal color keeping it loose fitting.
Good luck

It will take time, but trying on all sorts of clothes in different styles can help you find what you like. Try and remember that the clothes should not be too big/baggy and they shouldn't be too tight.
Shirts that are longer in the torso will help slim you down and make you look taller. Avoid busy patterns. Also, try on things you might not normally wear, sometimes the cut may be the perfect fit, clothes look different on different people and models.
Good luck!!

I'm also a kind of round, but you just buy clothes you like! Just have faith, do not care of what people think about you! Just wear clothes in which you feel comfortable. And if you would like to, maybe you could have a new hair cut... Or buy some of the latest make-up stuff... Be happy with yourself, everything's going to be OK. Do not use those diet programs, just go to the gym, do active things with your friends etc... Good luck.

I think flared skirts (like tulip-shaped that flare out at the knee or lower) are very flattering. If you are not into dresses, I think
shorts that hit between the knee and hip along with longer shirts, especially if they have a v-neck, make a person look longer and leaner. I would avoid really patterned fabrics and stick to solid colors instead of prints.
You will look great!

Girls and women that are even just a little overweight don't think anything looks good on them. We are our own worst critics. As long as the clothes are not skin tight I'm sure they are fine for you.

go try on as many different clothes as you can in different styles and from different stores and see what you feel best in. also if you are worried about your weight i would ease into an exercise schedual, start out with easy runs/walks and gradually start to workout longer. IT ONLY TAKES 15min OF EXERCISE TO MAINTAIN YOUR FITTNESS LEVEL.
