Yes. Mono, or mononucleosis or glandular fever, is commonly caught through kissing. So much so, actually, that it is referred to as the "kissing disease."
It is contagious through blood and saliva, though it is not the only illness that is that way ... however, I believe it is one of the more common ones.
The symptoms of mono include a fever sore throat, muscle soreness, and fatigue.
The kissing done to contract this disease doesn't have to be very heavy. Mono is sometimes transmitted through sharing drinks and eating after someone who has mono.

Hell Yeah you could! You could get herpes in the mouth from tongue kissing. And you'll notice if you did cause you would start getting canker sores in your mouth or around. You can also get gingivitis is if you have cut gums from brushing too hard. Or if you have gum bleeding. But you can't get AIDS or HIV. The virus is not usually passed through the saliva. It would have to be gallons of spit. But in rare incidents again if you have cut gums and so do they you maybe could. But that's a strong maybe. So make sure you know who you are kissing even if it is the first time and don't be afraid to ask questions nowadays. Believe me I know cause I'm an R.N.

Yes, you can get the other person's cold, oral herpes if they have it, etc. Just get to know the person very well before kissing them.
