We are learning that a god is not necessary, and most likely does not exist.

There simply is no evidence that a god exists. There is more and more evidence every day explaining the things we attribute to god... It's 2007, about time we started acting our age.

Amen brother! What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence. I find it amazing that we're still clinging onto the myths of ancient/primitive people who in every aspect of the human experience other than faith (math, science, history, ethics, medicine) would be complete imbeciles.

I am a christian, and I think that, no matter what year it is, we should never give up on faith. You said there was no proof of a God, that's wrong. i have had God's existance proven to me in so many ways, so many times. Whenever I , or anyone else in my family is in trouble I pray, and my prayers usually come true. If it wasn't for God my dad would have died a long time ago. He was on a motercycle going 90km/h and he was hit by a car going out of control. He skidded across into the other lane of traffic, and nearly got hit by a big truck. You could literaly see sparks flying off his helmet because of his speed, and when he got to the hospital he had to be cut out of his motorcycle gear because it had all fused together. Our mum actually drove up behind him after the accident, when he was being taken to the hospital, and she told us all to pray. I strongly beleive that our prayers were the thing that let him get through his crash with only a roadrash on his elbow and hip.
Doctors and other crash specialists all said he should have died in a crash that bad. If God didn't help, what did??
Never give up on faith! God doesn't change with the year.

Once again, there is absolutely NO positive proof for EITHER side of this particular argument. The same things that you can attribute to science (in theory) can also be attributed to a deity of some sort. So what's the difference? If believe in a god gives people hope of something better, let them hold on to that, they're not hurting you by their beliefs. And likewise, your belief in science is not going to hurt those who believe in a god figure, so hold on to it. It is nothing more than personal belief and can therefore not be proven either way. Let it go.

A lot of people still want to beleive in god and they are willing to denie anything that goes against their beleifs. Remember the Foxx sisters? They were the first official mediums! They preformed sieances in front of many people. When they finaly admitted that they were lying all that time, people still beleived they were for-real. This is the same situation with religion.

Go ahead animal. Animals eat sleep mate and defend as do humans. But humans have the intelligence to question their existence and relationship with God. Animals don't question that they are suffering in this material world. So stay in your Prison of Maya (illusion) as long as you like life after life. It is the service of The Goddess of illusion- Durgha wants to keep you here. Durgha means very difficult to escape. This world is for the less intelligent (that's us )but the intelligent surrender To God also known as Krishna,Allah Jehovah so they can get out very easily. go to harekrishnatemple.com for how to escape.

I know for an absolute fact, through personal experience, that God does indeed exist. Your opinion is old - goes back to Biblical times. I pray to God that you don't find yourself in a situation where you find yourself calling out to Him. There are no athiests in a foxhole.

Hmm... Many have shared your opinion since creation I suppose it is not an advancement in knowledge. God reveals the truth to those who love the truth. It is hard to teach someone that God does not exist if they happen to have a real relationship with him.

You, who think you are smarter than us dumb Christians, are free to believe or not believe in Jesus Christ. If you choose not to, you will reap the consequence of that choice despite your "enlightenment". If God does not exist for you, so be it, give up if you like. I choose to stay the course and believe by faith. When the end comes, I want to hear my Father say, " Good job faithful servant, in you I am pleased."

You mean there is no evidence you haven't been able to ignore. There will come a day when you will have no doubt.
