We have a 17 month old daughter and she loves banana's the only thing is though her favorite part is the peel! It is kinda silly and really cute but I just don't know if it is good for her or not. Can't find anything about it searching on the internet. Thank you for your time :)

I've never heard any warnings about eating banana peels, so I'm guessing she's pretty safe. I bet it IS cute to watch her eat them! =)

ILUVTIGERS, it makes you look rather stupid when you make a derogatory comment based on a question without reading the details that are in plain view.

Common sense.

I'm so glad you asked this! I was looking online to see if banana peels were ok to eat. This morning my son (18 months) was in his high chair eating a banana. I went into another room to grab a few things, and when I came back he was eating the peel, and not the banana. He's done this a couple times now so I am thinking he likes the taste of it. I thought it was a bit strange, but glad to hear that another little one does this, too. Hopefully it's just a phase. :)

oh..she's must be very adorable..
I don't know whether is it good for her to eat the banana peel. But it's better not to eat it (who knows, there might be pesticides on it).
Here's an interesting fact (if you do not know about) you might like to try out next time when you have a headache:(Banana peels will not only stop headaches but will relieve even severe Neuropathic Pain, RSD Pain, Trigeminal Neuralgia Pain, and Kidney Stone Pain. "Apply directly where it hurts")

No. Peels can have pesticides, and other organisms on them. You can't throughly clean a banana peel, like you can a grape.

I know the banana itself is ok, but I wouldn't let her eat the peel.

i have never heard of anyone liking to eat banana peels. a 17 month baby should be watched closely while eating one. she could choke easily. and no. i have never heard of them being harmful to your health.

I wouldn't suggest it because she could get choked on it. If you do continue to let her eat them, PLEASE wash them thoroughly because they are stored in warehouses where rats and all kinds of critters crawl over them. Also, they are sprayed with gases to kill the above mentioned. I just don't think it is a good idea!

I've never heard of anything being wrong with them, but I must say that is one of the oddest things I've ever heard.
