You're kidding, right? Pull over, save yourself months of aggravation, jail time, fines...

My suggestion is not to try. In today's society, Police Officers have a lot more gadgets to help them catch people who try and flee (specifically cameras).

I routinely use my window mounted camera to record the license plate of vehicle's that I intend to pull over before actually turning on the lights/sirens. That way if they do abscond, then I can go after the vehicle administratively. It takes a little leg work, but in the end I win.

Also, no matter how fast your car or motorcycle is, it can't outrun a Police Officer's radio transmissions. You can be blocked in down the road by other Police Officers and then your day will really turn ugly.

Last and certainly not least, what if you hurt or kill someone simply because you don't want a ticket. How will your conscience deal with that?

You don't! They have a saying: you can't outrun Motorola! You have no idea how many people, who thought they could outrun the police, end up dead or seriously injured because they drive beyond their limitations.
You have no idea if the car pulling out to chase is a high performance highway chase car, or a regular cruiser. We had a chase car that topped out well over 200 mph on the tread mill. If that one is the car that pulls out behind you on the highway, it doesn't matter much what you have under the hood, does it?

Never tried it... I have common sense !!

The other night I listened to the police radio and the sirens as some 19 yr old idiot with a suspended license TRIED... He had 6 units on him in 15 minutes, then the helicopter...

He drove round and round San Mateo County... the cops have low-speed chase rules... for 30 minutes. He was later charged with evading, felony evasion, felony DUI, vehicular hit-and-run (brushing a CHP car)... the DA is looking at a grand total of 30 YEARS worth of charges !!

You absolutely CAN NOT outrun cops. They have modified engines, tools such as the spike strip, and if you manage to beat cops on the road(highly unlikely) there is the helicopter. There is also the issue of fuel, and the pit maneuver. So unless you have a solar car that is also indestructible, you don't have a chance.
P.S. I am a police officer, lol, so trust me on this one.

u cant outrun a motorola man... but if you do decide to downshift and squirt through traffic, make sure you have something besides a trubo slammed civic ricer in ur hands, aight? cop cars ARE slow, theres tests that prove it. if you can get off the highway and into a hidden area before they call in the eyes in the sky or radio cops ahead of you, you might be able to get away.

And this is posted under safety?
You don't silly. Just pull over. You probably wouldn't get away anyway, you would just get yourself in more and more trouble, especially if you hurt or killed someone else in the process.

I would work on resolving whatever issue you have that would cause you to try to run rather than pulling over. That would be the easiest...and safest thing to do.

Well, I outran an Iowa State Patrolman one time in a turbo-charged honda prelude. He was facing the OTHER way running radar when I cruised by him at about 100mph. It took him several seconds to turn around in the median, by which time I had kicked it up to 145mph, well above what a patrol car is capable of. Knowing he would be radioing ahead, I got off the road at (some town I can't remember the name of), but it just happened to be the town with the BEAR DEN SITTING RIGHT BY THE HIGHWAY!!!!!! So I crept by acting perfectly cool.... "Nothing wrong here" I was saying to myself, and snaked down to the next county highway and kept heading east toward Illinois... Got away though... by the skin of my teeth... Man oh man that had me nervous (and the girl who was riding with me, too).... -john (rock island, Il)

Make sure you havea V8 Supercharged with some bad *** modifications first off, those cop cars are tuned up man! its very rare you can out run them since they're engine is so powerful, i dont know try hauling it to a private airport and taking a helicopter? or maybe a couple of rocket launchers would work

If you try this, first of all don't panic. Drive like you would do when you are driving fast alone for fun. Having the cops behind you, you might panic and go a lot faster than you would usually, which will surely hurt you.

Be sure you have a full tank of gaz also.

Pull over unless you are stupid, You have little to gain and a lot to lose, ever hear of felony evading? ever hear of vehicular homicide, spike strips, radio's, helicopters, they gear up for that kind of crap. Try to get a job with a felony, and they are like a tattoo they stay with you forever no matter how ugly they are.
