The majority Shiite will prevail militarily or democratically.

They already won the elections.

And if the USA "wins" they will have to turn Iraq over to the Shiites and go..

They are not allowed to voice any negative opinions about the Iraq war or Bush. Plus they are brainwashed on a daily basis.

I don't know what's more disturbing here. The fact that you believe that all these soldiers are dying for a hopeless cause, or the fact that lcmcpa believes the soldiers are "brainwashed" on a daily basis. I personally don't care what your personal beliefs are. I didn't when I served and sure don't now. What I do know is this.....The soldiers who are fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan don't listen to the media or the government. They know that neither one are going to be straight with them. What they listen too, and what means the most to them is what the people say. Do we approve of the job they are doing? Do we stand behind what they are doing?
I don't care if you like the war or not. It is Un-American for you to turn your back on these soldiers and their families. So you need to ask yourself a question....are you willing to die for your country or would you rather just judge others while standing in the blood of those soldiers that gave you that right?
Better yet, why don't you just wait at the airport terminal and spit in their faces as the exit the plane. It worked for your kind after Vietnam.

God bless our soldiers!!!

The elections they had were to appease the US Government. They need help but should talk to the belligerent Iran since they are next door. The Shias and Sunnis fights is similar to the the problem that Roman Catholics and Orthodox Catholics used to have. A difference in they way they worship God is enough for people to kill and sadly they invoke the almighty as justification

They don't have the luxury of realizing or acting upon their own opinions of any political outcome of any sort.

They follow orders only.

It is an absurd irony that those who see real life in Iraq have no say in the public or legislative debate back home.

Equally absurd is the rejection of qualified field commanding officers who confirm the fact our fellow citizens are bleeding in the sand without honor to country, only to a vague commitment from a small group of politicians who have never appreciated, or given the honor to, the reality of a boots on the ground mission.

I for one do not believe it is hopeless nor do many of my vet and regular service friends. The hopeless part is the political football that is getting played out in DC by the idiot democraps in Congress. Pure and simple politics. Harry Reid should be tried as a traitor to this country as should Pelosi. There commie rhetoric would have been anathema in FDR's day.

The GI's in iraq are there to do a job. I m sure they would like to come home but they are there to do a job. Even if they agree that its hopeless they will still do their job

We Soldiers do what we do because we believe in it. We need not explain ourselves, or our motives to you. Doing what you believe is right for the better of something other than yourself could never be considered wrong. Thank you for your opinion, but we will just keep ours to ourselves, and keep doing the job we are dedicated to doing. Sleep well.

if liberals, would join in the true support of the American military, the mission would not be hopeless, the iragi military was defeated in less then 1 month, but the democrats/liberals have allied themselves, with the muslims, killing American boys,if the American military was allowed to do the things that are necessary to win as they were in ww,2,we would not be in the position we are in now thanks to democrats/liberals allies of the muslims,so long as the American people are embarrassed!

Unfortunately their mission is incredibly ill defined by the Commander in Chief, who doesn't seem to know what he is doing or doesn't care.....take your pick.

If we would allow the Iraqis to patrol their own streets and take care of their own problems, we wouldn't have to do anything but hang out in the various US bases around the country and protect it from a foreign invader.....ooops, thats us....

Your question is a real "downer" for the U.S. troops morale.

Why not show your support for the troops, instead? Offer kind words of support and encouragement.
