A lady wrote the best letter in the Editorials
in ages!!! It explains things better than all
the baloney you hear on TV.

Her point:

Recently large demonstrations have taken place
across the country protesting the fact that Congress
is finally addressing the issue of illegal immigration.


Certain people are angry that
the US might protect its own
borders, might make it harder
to sneak into this country and,
once here, to stay indefinitely.
Let me see if I correctly understand
the thinking behind these protests.
Let's say I break into your house.
Let's say that when you discover
me in your house, you insist that I leave.
But I say, "I've made all
the beds and washed the
dishes and did the laundry
and swept the floors. I've
done all the things you don't
like to do. I'm hard-working
and honest
(except for when I broke into your house).

According to the protesters:

You are Required to let me stay in your house
You are Required! to add me to your family's insurance plan
You are Required to Educate my kids
You are Required to Provide other benefits to me & ; to my family

(my husband will do all of your yard work because
he is also hard-working and honest, except for that breaking in part).

If you try to call the police or force me out, I will call my friends who will picket your house carrying signs that proclaim my RIGHT to be there.

It's only fair, after all, because you have a nicer house than I do, and I'm just trying to better myself. I'm a hard-working and honest, person, except for well, you know, I did break into your house

And what a deal it is for me!!!

I live in your house, contributing only a
fraction of the cost of my keep, and
there is nothing you can do about it
without being accused of cold,
uncaring, selfish, prejudiced, and
bigoted behavior.

Oh yeah, I DEMAND that you to learn
MY LANGUAGE!!! so you can
communicate with me.

Why can't people see how ridiculous this is?! Only in America

The simplicity is too much for many. Not to mention that it doesn't make the point that they want to suggest........

I agreed with the point made the first time that I saw it. Still do. That many can't grasp it - proof positive of the negative effect that illegal immigration has had upon the educational system overall when such a simple example can't be seen on the merits of the point made.

To those who don't get the point:
Read history of other countries who when were explored and discovered were not what they are today. America isn't the only one. Wars were fought to establish what America is today. Read history and see what the Irish and other Immigrants went through to become citizens. They learned the language and went through the proper channels to become citizens. Do I have the right to waltz over to Mexico and demand the same rights as their citizens?

Ignorance loves to blab the crap about the pilgrims and Christopher Columbus. Wake up idiots, America was not an established country then, there were unexplored parts, just like any where else. That is not the case today. Every piece of land on every continent is now claimed by some country, there are no longer job openings for the type of explorer that Christopher Columbus was. You don't get the point, you are more than welcome to come here, you just have to go about it the proper way. What is so hard to understand about that?

I think it's totally ridiculous and it shouldn't be compared to any type of immigration situations.
Why is everyone attacking the Mexicans, There are a lot of different ethnic groups of immigrants in the USA.
So, what if some were born here and some came here by whatever means possible, they should get legalized and be able to stay.
Some of you people are really horrible to immigrants, give the people a break.. They are mostly honest people.. some came here legally and overstayed their visa and is now considered illegal, does that really make them a bad person.
Check your roots, do your homework, we all came from immigrants.. America was founded by immigrants.
If all the immigrants were to leave, what will we do.

The poster above is 100% right.....We have an aging population and low fertility rate....Ever wonder why the federal govt. looks the other way and refuses to enforce its own laws?

We have American citizens who can't live on minimum wage....And companies who refuse to pay more....There is a low skill job shortage in this country, who is going to fill those jobs, would you clean toilets for minimum wage? I didn't think so....

Give me a break. BS I see no comparison what so ever. Our SSA benefits are diminishing due to the baby boomers. Thanks World War II. If anything the illegals are contributing without the expectation of benefiting from them.
