im invited to a bday party and know my ex is gonna be there and my current on and off ''bed buddy'' who is his best mate will be there aswell. so do i go and have a good time, trying to avoid any drama in just showing both of them the cold shoulder and to hang out manly with my girlfriends. or should i better stay at home?

I say go have fun but always be prepared for the drama to start due to the situation you have put yourself in.
