Dangerous cult. I view it as a dangerous, scamming cult and with good reason. It brainwashes, mistreats and sometimes, though very rarely, even kills members. See this link for more info: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070423220440AA5SHRG

I wish I could've seen the documentary that everyone is raving about, but I heard it's on the BBC and I don't get anything by the BBC where I live. Too bad, I would've loved to see it.

This kind of documentary is intended to make Scientology seem strange...controversial etc.

Since you asked for my views ...... it's bloody brilliant.
I've been a Scientolgist for over 35 years and it continues
to deliver.

I don't recommend the media as a source of truth or facts. To really find out about something you need to examine it for yourself (or not) , but at least know that what you get here are other people's views and opinions which may or may not be based on any facts.

Here's some factual information about Scientology just for the record:

Scientology is an applied religious philosophy. When I say "applied" I mean you actually use it in your life to change or improve existing conditions. It is a very practical religion.
All religions if you learn about them have a basic philosphy, but they also have certain dogma, rituals and observances, and a certain faith or belief is required. There is nothing wrong with this, but Scientology is not that kind of religion. It does not intrude on anyones faiths of beliefs in the area of God , the Supreme Being, or the Infinite. This area is left totally up to the indivdual as pasrt of his life. It does not conflict.
You can have no specific religious beliefs and still benefit from it.
And it is only true for you according to your own observation and experience with it.
It is also not a messianic religion. This means there is no worship of messiahs in Scientology. There are no “beliefs” as such because a truth should be according to ones own observation and experience.
The dictionary definition that applies:
Religion: The spiritual or emotional attitude of one who recognises the existence of superhuman power or powers.

The most basic principle of Scientology is that YOU are your own immortal soul, that this is not a "thing" you HAVE but what YOU actually are.
The whole purpose of Scientology is to increase an individual's understanding and awareness of himself. and lifeAnd thereby his native abilities .
When you do this the sphere and zone of his positive influence increases and moves outward into his life, his family ,his friends, his groups and mankind which he is part of.

How this result is achieved is the "technology" of Scientology, which was developed by L.Ron Hubbard after his extensive research and the discoveries he made, about the human spirit. The basic religious philosophy and knowledge of Scientology is very old, going back 10,000 years at least to the Veda or Vedic Hymns from the East. L. Ron Hubbard researched and made new discoveries about the human spirit. He developed technology from these discoveries to apply to increase spiritual awareness and ability.
He completed his research before his death in 1986 and left all of his results and copyrights
to the Church of Scientology along with most of his considerable personal estate, when he died.

He published a book in 1951 to communicate the basic principles he discovered called: " Scientology The Fundementals of Thought"
There are currently over 10 million Scientologists in more than 163 countries world wide. However we are a new religion, only 53 years old.
The true story of Scientology as a religion goes like this:
1. A philosopher developes a philosophy about life and death.
2. People find it interesting.
3. People find it works.
4. People pass it along to others.
5. It grows.

This is just an overview.
L. Ron Hubbard explained fully the theology and technologies of Scientology in more than 500,000 pages of writings, including dozens of books and over 2,000 tape-recorded public lectures.

They do feed their children milk, or a concoction of Barley Formula", made from barley water, homogenized milk, and corn syrup or honey - which was used in during the Roman era. Hubbard also noted that breastfeeding should be avoided if the mother is smoking or is lacking good nutrition herself. You have to agree that if you are going to breastfeed, the milk coming from the mother should not be tainted by bad foods or smoking/drinking.

In my opinion, Scientology is NOT a cult, but another form of organized religion. Who are we to state otherwise or judge? Scientology is a bonafide religion state recognized, just as Paganism, Buddhism, Satanism, Hindu, Christianity, etc.

What you deem as organized religion is your opinion, but if you take the time to really look into what the religion is about and stop listening to the media and how they come about their opinions of things, you might think differently.

they are all loonies! anyone who chooses to be lead by a man that continually shouts his opinion at others, has issues I say. Also do you know they dont feed babies milk? WHAT THE? how can they call this a religion when they are denying an innocent life of the food that nature intended it to have for survival? Its a cult, made so by the people who run it, they are selling places for cash, did you hear Kirsty Alley being referred to as ' level 7'? what religion has 'levels'?
Like I said, loonies..

To many contradictions in their doctrines however they have a pretty good idea as to what they are talking about. Very expensive to take the courses and those crash sale techniques... can blow your mind off. As with all philosophical dogmas one must be very careful since not all of their practices apply to everybody. A word of advice... Do not take things at face value, listen to your own thoughts and feelings cause none knows your self better than you. do not allow your need to belong take you to places you never intended to go!!!

Sounds way to much like science. Some people actually think it is the religion of science because of it's misleading name.

Same bullshit as other religions but with a sci-fi flavour instead of an olde-worlde fire n' brimstone flavour.

Oh yes, and with dangerous exploitation of contract, libel and slander laws.

For that to be actual then the different of indifference would would desire to be love yet it is not unavoidably actual. the different of indifference could be a kind of different emotions, which includes affection and hate. Seeing the style you need to evaluate indifference to be the different of the two hate and love (and compassion etc.) then indifference would would desire to be the middle floor for all emotions to fulfill. it is not completely the different of affection.
