I try to listen to my body when it's hungry, and I get hungry for lunch at 11:30 am, so I eat then, but then I'm hungry again around 3 pm so I end up getting candy from the machine. What are some healthier options? Nothing that has to be cooked or extensively prepared because I work full time. I also do not like fruit. I don't need to lose any weight but I don't want to gain weight.
thanks!

Nuts. It gives you slow release of energy. It's better than chocolate

sometimes when your thirsty you can feel hungry so you should have a drink at 11.30 first to allow your body to decide what it needs then if your hungry have cereal, tuna pasta salad, leftovers, sandwiches, homemade salad, if you make your lunch at home you have more control over what goes into it therefore it should be healthier and if your still feeling hungry later on instead of going to the candy machine bring in your own sweet treat whether it be chocolate, sweets etc just don't go to the candy machine i not sure if you like tomatoes if you do they are great for keeping you going especially small cherry or plum with salt

A trail mix that you make yourself of nuts, chex, pretzels, whatever you like would be a better alternative to candy. I am not much of a fruit person either. A healthy drink, like a chocolate milk, or even a peanut butter sandwhich, or cheese and crackers, just to get you through that, i am hungry, right before dinner, to get me through the day, snack.

You are supposed to eat about every 4 hours anyway small amounts. I would suggest a protein drink or trail mix, beff jerky is a good protein too. Do you like cearel There is a website I will have to get to you later. The snacks take 20 min to make.

A lot of machines have these in them too: granola bars, peanuts, pretzels, trail mix, licorice, some fruit juice.

You can also bring from home:
energy bars, an apple and a tablespoon of peanut butter, string cheese, an orange, a banana.

I love to grab a handful of baby carrots and dip them in ranch. When I worked (I stay home with my kids now) I kept a box of granola bars in my desk, and they were filling as well. Also, I drink a big big glass of water at about that same time which also fills me up and helps me not start nibbling on dinner things while I'm cooking.

Cheese and whole grain crackers would be good. Packets of nuts are usually in vending machines. A tall glass of milk makes a good afternoon snack.

Microwave popcorn,
Frozen fruit bars,
Yogurt and granola
Graham crackers and peanut butter
string cheese and grapes

You should eat three meals a day with two small snacks
Make sure you have healthy protein

I love almonds. They are a great afternoon pick me up & you can get them in sweet or salty so whatever your craving is, it will be satisfied. They are high in fat so a handful is all you should need but if you are not trying to lose weight that should not be an issue. My favorite brand that I keep in my desk is Almond munchies in honey glazed.

I would go with almonds or soy nuts... there is a company that sells them(crum Creek) I buy them and they are quite filling. It has a few chocolate chips(solves small sweet tooth) or Fudge bars sugar free the solve a sweet tooth and are low calorie!

I like raw veggies and fat free ranch to dip them. Get a bag of already cut and washed veggies- i like brocollie, cauliflower, and carrots. And for the ranch I buy fat free sour cream and a packet of hidden valley ranch easy! Yummy! NO FRUIT! :-)
