Wouldn't your demographic qualify for some sort of Federal protection?

There's only 12 or 13 of you.

What would happen to the "Christian Nation" nonsense then?

Something of a Catch 22 in this. What would you use for criteria for who you ask? Perhaps we could assume that ministers and priests qualify, and ask them. But the minute you make that choice, you have yourself decided who is a "real" Christian. Or at the very least who is qualified to say who a real Christian is.

I don't understand your comment about Federal protection. As you know, we have a First Amendment that prohibits any such thing.

Why do you assume there are only 12 or 13 of them? Is this just cynicism, or from your point of view is it optimism? Personally, I think you reveal a curiosity that may overcome your cynicism.

Christians aren't such bad people, you know. A little hard to take at times, but mostly pretty kind and generous.

It would be exposed as nonsense. Not all the sects claiming "Christian" recognize each other, and I'm certainly a bit stingy with the title at times myself. This is no Christian nation. It's one intended to be secular that is moving ever closer to the intention of the Founding Fathers for good or ill.

maximum folk of yankee "Christian" church homes and their attenders are so a techniques from actual Christianity that they could desire to no longer actually be able to declare to be Christian. They carry forth the type of tender, sugar lined gospel that early believers could fall ill from all the candy that passes for preaching in the present day. people in the present day choose the certainty and maximum can see actual by way of a liar so as that they are leaving the mainline "candy production unit" denominations and finding for the actual deal. regrettably even particularly some Non-denominational and so referred to as pentecostal preachers have additionally fallen into uncomplicated-believeism so the people do no longer comprehend the place to coach, maximum of comprise turning their backs on God and leaving the church. regrettably via fact of fake doctrines like eternal secure practices, a lot of people who're leaving are doing so thinking that via fact they as quickly as suggested a prayer, they are nevertheless going to heaven, even however they now no longer stick to God's word. The Bible suggested this could take place, that in the time of the final of the final days, there will be an excellent falling faraway from the religion. So this comes as no ask your self to those people who comprehend the Lord and His word.

I know quite a few more real Christians than just the 12 or 13 that you've encountered.

Of course, my definition tends to be a bit more liberal than some of my brothers and sisters in Christ since I don't automatically discount anyone's Christianity based solely on their denomination or belief system.

I'm a Christian, though I don't know if I would call myself a "real" Christian. I believe either a person is a Christian, or they're not. Plain and simple.

But I agree with you. There are too many people claiming to be Christians who aren't. I certainly hope I'm not one of them!

I love Texas. In San Antonio, where I live, the fundies are NOT in the majority. You get north of Austin anywhere in this state, with the exception of Dallas, and you will have to deal with the fundies on a regular basis.

There absolutely should be federal protection to keep the fundie's idiotic dogma out of our laws.

Naw, they're all 'true/real' christians. They just don't accept EACHOTHER as true/real christians. Ask any of them, they're right and the other guys are wrong. It never occurs to them that THEY may be the ones doing the whole thing wrong and turning the world against them.
