Whenever a question is asked that shows the hypocrisy and inconsistency within the christian religion,there seems to be a standard list of excuses.
My favourite is
"You have taken that out of context"

Mine is: Pray, you'll find the truth. He he they don't realize I did pray and the truth I found was atheism!

My favorite is a smart-*** that thinks he is clever. I like to cut him down. But I am not Christian just a by-stander that gets tired of BS.

Other than "out of context" my favorite is "You aren't capable of understanding it" and/or "God didn't call you to understand it"
"Wherefore David arose and went, he and his men, and slew of the Philistines two hundred men; and David brought their foreskins, and they gave them in full tale to the king, that he might be the king's son in law. And Saul gave him Michal his daughter to wife." (I Samuel 18:27)
What about that is there to not understand?

So many things in the old testament are downright evil and disgusting, and when non-christians point them out, that's the typical response.
