Yes, you can use a GPS unit. However, if you wish to use it for this purpose, you have to be an owner of the vehicle. For instance, you could legally use it on your husband's car but not your boyfriend's car. You either have the GPS unit hard wired to the car and the company who monitors the device can tell you where the vehicle is when you call them. This is the method car dealers use. The company charges you by the number of times you ask them to get a "hit" on the vehicle's location. Many private investigators use a mobile GPS where you place the GPS unit (it looks like a cell phone) in a magnetic case and attach it under the car. Then you can go to a website (www.ulocate.com) and it will track the vehicle's movements for you. It pulls you up a map and everything. There's a 5 minute delay, but this device will consistently track the vehicle movement. It will even store a report and give you all the places the vehicle went and a print-out of how long they were there. The negative about this method is that the battery must be recharged every 48 hours.

Yes, I bought a small ball for mine. You can make on by buying one of those balls on rubber strings and a paddle, they have them at a lot of the dollar stores. Or you could tape a small flag on it. These of course would go on your antenna.

That would be a small radio transmitter or GPS unit. Probably not legal to use it that way.
