No, not all members are nutters. Some are friendly and kind. Many, though, will aggressively and mercilessly attack any perceived "critic" or "enemy" of their cult because (1) they're brainwashed to do so and (2) it's official Scientology policy:

Fair Game - the Scientology policy detailing how the organization may confront & handle critics & perceived enemies. Here is a direct quote: "Enemies may be deprived of property or injured by any means by any Scientologist without any discipline of the Scientologist. May be tricked, sued or lied to or destroyed.”

Many get quite hostile and launch into extremely personal attacks against people who have EVER had one negative thing to say about the cult of Scientology or their "prophet", L. Ron Hubbard:

I am sure there are some reasonable Scientology members but some of their beliefs do appear pretty outrageous to other people.
