You know I don't know of any scripture where it states not to smoke things. I think the main point would be "all in modesty"..in that you should not overdo anything.
And Kevin D: chill out..it's just a question..what, you aren't allowed to ask a question without it being personal experience or something?? Has nothing to do with her little one..

My wife and I had the same debate. I even went to my pastor with it, even though I already knew the answer.
Ask this question of yourself - 'Why do I smoke it?' If the person in question is totally honest, they will say simply, "To get stoned."
I know this to be truth. I smoked pot, grew pot, and sold it for years. People smoke it to get stoned. The more potent it is, and the higher they got, the more they wanted. Plain and simple.
Here's the problem with it. The Word of God says to be sober minded. Period.
Forget all the arguments that being high is not like being drunk. It is not being sober, either. If it was, noone would smoke it.
Scriptures to back this biblical stance up are as follows :
1 Thess.5:6 ; 1 Tim. 3:11 ; Titus 1:8 & 2:2 ; 1 Peter 1:13, 4:7, and 5:8.

Your body is the vehicle which your soul chose to be wrapped in. Your soul which is the real you is what God breath into your body to become a human being. Every word of God that you learned throughout becomes the Holy Spirit that lives in you. What you take therefore inside your body must not be overused, abused and misused. Weeds or drugs like alcohol or daily foods when properly taken can help to dispense some ailment in the body and mind. When all of which is taken in excess, then it will put your body, soul and spirit into a dangerous state of being. Everything becomes Godly or unGodly in your actions or choice of actions with regards to your consideration of what is and what is not Godly.

"IS IT OK TO SMOKE WEED"
Proverbs 31:6-7
"6 Give strong drink to him who is perishing,
And wine to those who are bitter of heart.
7 Let him drink and forget his poverty,
And remember his misery no more. "
Some medical "Weed" is okay but as for regular abusive use, look at what Galatians 5:16-26 says. If your toking interferes at all with this then I would get ride of it altogether.
"16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.
18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery,[c] fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,
20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,
21 envy, murders,[d] drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another."
You have to ask what do you love more weed or Christ. Not to mention it is illegal and therefore it makes you disobedient to the government. Which is wrong.
Pray (sober), talk with you pastor and elders, let the Holy Spirit Lead you.

If you are a Christian your body is the 'temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you and you are God's.' Smoking anything is detrimental to the body and self-destructive. I smoked weed and did speed for 6 years and smoked cigarettes, cigars and pipes for 17 years before I got saved. I dropped them all because I knew without anyone telling me that they were wrong. The Holy Spirit convicted me from the beginning
and God healed me of them completely in one moment of time. In over 33 years I have had no withdrawals, and no desire to return to those things.

If is not in the bible then do not believe it. No it is not in the bible but is a herb of the lord and one feels it is okay to smoke it. Although the bible does not indicate this is a sin just like smoking then one thinks it is okay and not a sinful thing. Mankind has label some things as sin or wrong that does not add to bible principals.

Jesus was offered a drug to dull his pain, and he refused it. The Bible condemns drinking to an excess, why would it be alright to do drugs? And also druggery was involved with people who consult the demons. This would include smoking tobacco as it is also considered a drug. And I don't know about you, but I don't want demons any where around me!

Serious question - serious answer!
Intoxicants taken into the body of man destroys mans wisdom.
If man wants to truly have wisdom, then intoxicants should be avoided.
Many will say anything in moderation is OK.
Does a poisonous viper have to inject all of its venom into a man to kill him. Not really, for some varieties of vipers need only place one drop in mans system and man dies.
Give this some serious thought and use your wisdom to come to a conclusion for yourself.
Intoxicants are like this. For some people it may take a great deal to kill them, and others it may take very little, to ruin their life.
A very wise man once said, "It's in your hands".

Your body is a temple of the holy spirit . I had the same question myself , but found no proof of it being OK. I know in the eyes of GOD sin is sin , so its no different than a cold beer or wine. Its just illegal here. I still miss smoking sometimes , but I have found true peace with GOD.

Everything is permissible"— but not everything is beneficial.
1st cor. 10:23
we are also to follow the laws of man unless they counter Gods laws. so if weed is legal and you do it. I guess it would be covered under 10:23. unless it was to help with a medical condition like cancer and it helped increase your apitite
