it depends sometimes if it is a way of saying that you are a good cook i dont think is bad, however if is said like the only reason to marry you is because you know hou to cook then it is obviously bad.

I would probably take it as a compliment, but then I might say something like, "And a guy would make a great husband if he cooked for the girl as well at times." I dunnoo really, but I would try to think of something witty to say back, haha. But it all depends on who said it... if I can tell a guy is just joking and doesn't think that a woman is just a domesticated figure or whatever, then I can take it as a compliment.

I would take it as a compliment. MEN, some of them do not know how to express themselves and maybe if he had said you would make a good wife because the sex is great, you may think that was all he was in it for. Also, if the sex is great and you both really know this, then don't worry, be happy. A lot of women cannot and do not intend to learn how to cook.

I agree with the guy who suggested that you are over analyzing the situation. Just because someone says that you have a good hook shot or a great tennis back-hand doesn't mean that he sees you only as a dumb jock, for example. I'm sure that most people realize that you are good at more than just one thing. Duh!
If you interpret everything as an insult, then it means that you don't value yourself much. In other words, if you don't like yourself, then you will find some way to turn any compliment into an insult irregardless of the other person's intentions.

I wouldn't take it as an insult, i'm sure you've heard the saying "the way to a man's heart is through is stomach" I got told I'd be a good wife cause I'd be a great mom and I took it as a compliment, better a June Cleaver than a Pam Anderson

honestly that's a great compliment. Girls as a whole (in my opinion) have forgotten how to be women. They all want to be like men. Women need to be good cooks and they need to know how to clean and iron. im not being sexist, but it seems that the status quo has shifted from what women were and what they are now.
Don't take this the wrong way, i accept women wanting to do men things, but it shouldn't effect the sole reason they were put on earth. To bear and raise children, and with that the responsibilities that go in conjunction with that I.E. Cooking Cleaning, Etc.

I think all guys would like to marry a girl who knows her way around the kitchen. It's kind of a dumb thing for him to say, but probably meant as a compliment. If this is a serious boyfriend, keep in mind that this might indicate he wants a traditional, domestic housewife. Nothing wrong with that, if that's what you want, too. Just something to think about.

I think it is a compliment im sure he didnt mean that that is the only thing he sees in you...
Im sure he just mean it as it would be great because I already love you and you are a great cook which would make it even better.

Hard to say. I agree with the whole "June Cleaver" reference. (Good one, by the way.)
I think I would try to step it up in the bedroom, but still do the domestic work great.
Then he may see you as a great wife all around.

Next time a guy says that to you cook for him in a sexy outfit but nothing greasy or messy something simple. This will not only make you feel appealing in the bedroom but that fact you cook is a bonus. Trust me don't get offended if a guy says you can cook just be sexy about it next time.
