I guess that this is mainly directed towards people with caramel to dark skin. Why is it that when they sometimes tan, the tan never fades away? The tanning line on my feet hasn't faded and I have had it for one year.

That happens to me where I wear my bathing suit top. The rest of my body stays darker. I guess it's that we get really tan during the summer so it doesn't have enough time to fade completely, And then the next summer comes around and we tan it again.

Tans are not permanent although depending on the severity of it the tan may take months to fade away. But they do eventually go away and if it doesn't probably the skin had been damaged in the process of tanning

the tan doesn't fade because the damage done to the skin to create the tan has become permanent.

some people just hold tan better than others. My tan will last about a year.

everyones body types are differnt. it all depends on how much sun you get
