Itchy rash. I am using cortisone cream for the itch but it isn't helping much. I have been working outside the last couple of days with wood that is treated, could the chemical in the wood be to blame? I'm really begining to worry because I am highly allergic to poison ivy and was hopitalized as a small child. Could it be that? HELP!

it certainly sounds like an allergic reaction of some sort. Would suggest to you that Benadryl taken orally would be more effective in controlling the itching and in helping to calm the entire situation.

It sounds like poison ivy or poison oak. If you have benedryl that should help relief some of the reaction, no matter what it is. If it spreads beyond the area it's in right now, call your doc...just to play it safe.

Could be Impetigo - I'd wash your hands in sterile water, empson salt and apply antibitoic ointment - call the MD in the event its something more serious.
