I am not gigantic just need to lose about 20 pounds specifically from the stomach area. Have been doing sit ups (crunches) and push ups every day for two weeks and have not seen any difference? Any advice would be great!

sit ups only make your belly look bigger since there is more muscle now underneath the layer of fat, they dont burn fat.
the only exercise that burns fat is cardio 4-6 times a week for 30-50min combined with light weight training
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Sorry to let you down, but crunches and sit-ups will not make your belly shrink. Doing them will only make the muscle behind that layer of fat stronger. This is how to lose that layer of fat.Cut most sugar from your diet except for natural sugars from fruit, no regular soda, cut way down on the beer, HELLO_____BEER GUT!!!!!! (diet soda is ok in limited amounts of course) absolutely no fast food, no white bread or any white flour, only whole 100% grains, plenty of water, lots of vegetables, a good quality multi-vitamin supplement. Also, do 30-60 minutes of cardio 6 days a week. This is how I lost 50 lbs. I used to be a size 13/14 and now I'm a size 3/4. Just be patient and consistant, I promise this will work for you.

Now that depends. . .. have you stopped drinking the beer?

if so, then any extra effort to stay active will surely take the weight within a reasonable amount of time.
