I have never met anyone online but my uncle met his now wife online. So i guess it could happen. Life is too short, you only live once so if you are thinking about online dating i say give it a shot!

Yeah, I have...and it worked out for 6 months...granted, I didn't know him, but he went to highschool with a girl that I know from college....so he was like a "second-degree" stranger...lol...she had known him for a few years, but I didn't know him...anyway, we messaged each other on facebook (because I was listed as one of the girl's friends)...he seemed really nice, so we began talking over the phone...then in a couple of months, we were together...it was long distance, but we got to spend time with each other a few times...he would visit me...

It was actually the best AND longest relationship that I've had so far...lol...he was my first love :( *tear*

i did. i was in cent florida, and found this great girl online. she was going through some tough stuff, but after a few months of being friends, well we started clicking, and then had a great realtionship. never a fight, never a dull moment, it was nice. however, we had to end it b/c i moved outside of pittsburgh, and long distance usually doesnt work out. but its possible, you just have to take your time, and hope that the person is real on the other end and not being fake

Yes and no. I met them online hoping for a committed relationship but instead it came down to friendship. (4 of them!!) I think it has to do with being Baby Boomers--once the man went through a divorce, he decided to never marry again. But I cherish the friends I have and wouldn't trade them..

I think online dating is ridiculous because
1. People could be telling so many lies about themselves.
2. How can you feel a connection with words typed onto a computer?

Yep, and we've been married for two years (together for 4 and a half). :)

Of course there were a couple duds before that, but probably about the same ratio as meeting people IRL first.
