To those who ask the question of Christians..."what if you are wrong". I say even if we are wrong we are still the better off. How could it hurt believing that we should (1). treat others as we would like to be treated. (2). to honor our parents (3). to not give our bodies away (outside of marriage) taking chances of getting every disease imagineable. (4). for husbands to believe that they are supposed to love and cherish their wives. (5) for wives to believe that they are supposed to respect and love their husbands. (6) to believe that you should not keep the cycle of violence going by getting revenge on someone who has wronged us. (7). to have a hope that what we see in this messed up world is not all there is left in life. (8) to believe that we should forgive an offense against us (9) to believe that we should give to the poor and needy (10) and to believe that a creator greater than ourselves loves us and desires all good things for us? If we are wrong SO WHAT???

So you're saying that if we don't believe in god, then we disagree with all of these:

(1). treat others as we would like to be treated. (2). to honor our parents (3). to not give our bodies away (outside of marriage) taking chances of getting every disease imagineable. (4). for husbands to believe that they are supposed to love and cherish their wives. (5) for wives to believe that they are supposed to respect and love their husbands. (6) to believe that you should not keep the cycle of violence going by getting revenge on someone who has wronged us. (7). to have a hope that what we see in this messed up world is not all there is left in life. (8) to believe that we should forgive an offense against us (9) to believe that we should give to the poor and needy

You are very off-base here. Atheists believe all of these things and more, we just believe in one fewer gods than you do.

Here are the Rights and Responsibilities of an Atheist:

Have no gods.
Don't worship stuff.
Be polite.
Take a day off once in a while.
Be nice to folks.
Don't kill people.
Don't cheat on your significant other.
Don't steal stuff.
Don't lie about stuff.
Don't be greedy.
Remember, theists may condemn you for living by this code because you are doing it of your own free will instead of because you're afraid that if you don't a supreme being will set you on fire.

I would agree with you, if people actually followed those laws. Instead, religion is used to justify horrific deeds and oppression. The inquisition, the Irish conflicts, fundamentalist violence, the KKK...

The mentality of religion is such that people feel justified, and believe themselves to be not responsible for their actions, because they were "instructed by God". For a current example, take the current bias towards homosexuals. Religous people claim it is an abomination, and unnatural. But how many non-religious people have a problem with homosexuals? Were it truly an abomination don't you think they would have a problem with it as well? After all, basic human decency makes people uncomfortable against violence, murder, molestation... So which is worse, an ideology that supports oppression? Or an open-mind which only takes offense to those things which are truly indecent?

I agree with you, all those things you mentioned is found in Exodus 20 & 1 Corinthians 13, Love towards are fellow men as much or above ourselves is essential/foundational. This is the second Law.

The first Law we must never forget, is to love G-d.

What would we say to a child of ours that respected their teachers, were very kind to their friends, helped the needy, and was just good to everyone else. But this same child, disrespects their parents. I was such a child once, everyone was impressed with me outside of the home; but I turned when the doors shut. No one would believe the kind of child I was during those few overbearing years.

What would happen if a child (teenager) disregarded the note her parents left.

Note:
"You are almost 17 and we are leaving you home while on vacation. You may have your best friends Rachel and Tiffany stay with you like we arranged with their parents, but no boys! We want you all to go to prayer meeting on Wednesday, youth group on Thursday, and church on Saturday. The church family will check up on you and make sure every things ok. Now you know the rumors of war have been going on here in Rwanda. No one can imagine it really happening, Christians turning against Christians but just in case, we have secured help. Trust no one else. If you hear shots fired, turn all the lights out in the house lock all the doors, bring nothing but your Passport, Wallet, and Bible. Go out the back door quietly, but leave ajar. It will be a sign to the person we will have sent that you are ok. Run along the river North until you get to a large red leaf tree, in it's hallow pull out a key on a chain and put it around your neck. Now directly cross West from the tree through the river until you see an old well. You and the girls are to climb down the ladder of that well until you see a horizontal opening, keep the key chain around your neck while unlocking this door. Go inside and follow it one mile until it ends, you would have crossed the boarder. At the end will be a door, use your key to unlock it, but don't open it. The person on the other side has instructions to deny entry to anyone who does not say John 3:16. After you recite it, they will open the door for you and let you in. Get this far and you are safe. Now burn this letter right now. Tell no one of it. I have the same information in your Bible written on the pages of John 3:16. Don't forget your Bible.

What if she was wrong and said, "Genocide will not happen in my country. We are Christians. I will not prepare and keep my Bible beside me at all times while at home." What happens if she hears the shots and says, "I will run next door to my neighbors house, they have guns, they will know what to do."

What if she realizes too late, the truth. That during the Rwandan Genocide, that neighbors and fellow church members killed each other due to racist appetite that was fed to them as a steady course for many years by the dutch.

Unfortunately, Atheists can chalk this one up for the record; at least on the surface.

In the last days, there will be many who will be hoping and looking forward to a pre-tribulation rapture that will never come. And they will not be ready to deal with what is to come.

So what if Christians (We) are wrong....? So what if Christians accept the mark of the beast because they were not ready mentally, spiritually, and physically to know the difference. People get ready Y'shua's (Jesus') coming. Do not believe Satan's lie that you'll be raptured up before the trials begin. This is Western arrogance.

The tribulation has already begun around the world. Christians are being put the pain and suffering for the name of Christ, suffering horrible indignities. Christians are being forced to watch family members being raped and are being told that it will stop if they recant, go against their conscious. Then being killed if they refuse. Christians are being forbidden to make a lively hood for their families in many parts of the world.

Arrogance is being conveyed by Christians all over the Western World, saying, "We will be raptured so we do not have to endure the indignities of Middle Eastern Christians, African Christians, and Asian Christians." Satan is so cleaver. When the tribulation comes to your door will you then get ready? It may be too late. If you are a sheep being led to the slaughter now, will be a sheep led to the slaughter then.

Out of love, I plead with you, do not be a sheep. Throw away every Bible Study you had on this topic and open your Bible. Read prayerfully asking for understanding. Read and question and discuss. If you see a contradiction, ask G-d to clarify using sound reason; the contradiction is not with the Word but your own supposition (Languages 101). The only sheep you should be is one being led to the kingdom. How is it that you should know where you are being led, unless you know whom it is that is leading you.

People get ready.

Explain to me how to be all of those you must be a christian? You don't, it's nice to highlight to positive aspects of christianity, but there are many negative. I'd like to see many christians treat others with respect when it comes to homosexuals, attacking employees and patients at abortions clincs in the name of 'god'. The religion is based on violence and corruption. I have enough sense and intelligence to live my everyday life the way I see fit, I don't need 10 rules to abide by to do so, tyvm. (:

I couldn't care less if you're either wrong or right but acting all high and almighty over such an abstract part of your religion is rather piteous.

In John 8, verse 25, the people asked Jesus, "Who are you?"

Jesus answered like this:

"Just what I have been claiming all along," Jesus replied. 26"I have much to say in judgment of you. But he who sent me is reliable, and what I have heard from him I tell the world."

27They did not understand that he was telling them about his Father. 28So Jesus said, "When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am the one I claim to be and that I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me. 29The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him." 30Even as he spoke, many put their faith in him.
The Children of Abraham

31To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

To your question, if you know Jesus, you know the Truth.
We have no fear to think that we may have made a mistake or are wrong beliving in Jesus and what he has done for us. We know that truth and can be the most confident that this world is only temporary, and we have much to look forward to in Heaven when we pass out of this life, into the next.

Christians are humans and we can be wrong in so many levels it is not fun to think. Jesus is right. He is real and He is the way. We are safe following Him no matter what people say.

I was told that Gandhi was very close to be a Christian but then he visited the Bible Belt in the USA, and he changed his mind. He had to be separated from other guests due to his darker skin color. How can saved people be so wrong?

What if they're not? LOL I don't know were you got those rules but have fun trying to live by them. Did you make them up? Make sure you give to all those "needy" people at the off ramps begging for money wearing brand new sneakers and clean vintage clothes. There is also something called naive.

If that's what you believe and how you try to live your life then I applaud you. I try to do much the same thing. So do most other religious people.

I am a practical minded person. If religion is what helps direct you to lead a good life and you are not harming other people then - Go 'Fer It !!!

I am of The True Christian Faith... and I know I am not wrong regarding that... in many other areas I am found wrong on a regular basis... but one of The True Christian Faith knows The Truth of The Faith... As there is no way for any one of The Faith to "prove" God to anyone else... I just tell anyone who askes me that question " I'm not wrong... but God dose not allow me to compel you to believe me... and I can not prove a thing to you about my "Faith"... The proof you would need can only come from God... when God wants you to know The Truth He will let you know.... untill then you are bound only by man's law... as for me I am bound by God's Law"
