Because typical kids run while playing so its saying "Caution kids playing" not "slow children", you must have been behind a short bus.

It is obvious what the sign means, just as it is obvious that the question was asked as a joke. The only thing not obvious, is the fact that these signs do not actually slow anyone down. Parents who request these signs to be installed in their subdivisions and neighborhoods, may be decreasing safety on the road. They may be placing their kids in harms way.
Parents tend to think that because that "Slow Child" sign is up that the road is safe for their child to play in. In reality, as time goes by signs will become background noise to drivers. You think I am wrong... Right now, I want you to think of the first 10 signs you see own your way to work. Do not include stop signs. 9 out of every 10 people have a problem doing this. Tomorrow check your answers.

Because children often run, and cross the street with out looking, and slow means you must drive slow to prevent and accident.

I always feel bad for those kids :-P
I appreciate the humor here... but seriously its a good idea to drive slower than those kids are running or else someone will come out and yell at you as you're driving off.

because dummy thats just the way it is! lol.....no ....the sign is to INFORM the drivers to take caution and slow down BECAUSE there may be children running around and playing around those streets
