You don't have to thank the person for the gift or card (although I find that it's a little rude). You can just say that you really appreciated the effort they made by travelling out of town to attend your wedding. Let them know that they have honored you with their presence and made your special day even more memorable. By the way, congratulations on your wedding and I'm sure that all your guests will be thrilled to receive your personalized thank you card. Not all brides bother with that kind gesture.

Just thank these guests for showing up. Even for some people thats a very difficult task to do(going to a wedding). Everyone should get a card that was there as to not hurt any feelings, even if you don't care, it shows that you are a mature adult and a good person.

Of course, you DIDN'T invite people to your wedding on the basis of receiving gifts!
You actually only owe thank-you cards to people who gifted/carded you.
However, if you feel you should send some kind of thank you card then do this:
"Thank you so much for attending our wedding. Your presence meant so much to us at this very special time in our lives."

i would say something like, thank you so much for attending the wedding. It really meant a lot to us that you would travel all the way to be at our wedding. We really enjoyed seeing you and hope that we can meet up again in the near future.

Always be very cordial and keep it short. The proper thing to say would be something like this:
"Thank you for attending our wedding ceremony. We were pleased that you could celebrate our special day with us."

I think it would be nice of you and your husband to send a thank you card to your parents even if they did not help with the cost or planning its the thought that counts.

Just say something like....We would like to thank you for attending our wedding. We really appreciated the extra miles you traveled to be part of our special day. It would not have been the same without you there. Thanks again!

Well technically you don't even have to thank them if they didn't give you a gift.
Otherwise....
Dear Mr and Mrs...
Thank you so much for traveling so far to be with us on our special day. You presence meant so much to us and we could not ask for better friends/family.
