if you're young, then men possibly do things to "throw you off" for sexual gain or satisfaction.
all men aren't "actors".. some people are more selfish than others.
if you are with someone who is scheming and sneaky, makes promises they don't keep, NO they don't love you. this would mean IT'S ALL ABOUT THEM, not you.
take care of you. if you feel uncomfortable about someone, then i guess they are not the right person for you.

Since you're asking this question, I'd like to ask you one. Have you ever lied to a man, or a boy for that matter. Said you liked football because you know he's a fan. I hate to tell you this but it's all a game. Women and men both do it. Not all woman, and not all men. But in general dating is a giant game. The point of it is to find someone who makes you happy. Not everything a man says is a scheme, but I would bet $10 that 25% of it is at the very least lets say a "variation of the truth".

"Is there a scheme under every thing a man does and says? "
yes, the scheme is called "get in her pants" and men play that scheme until they take up another game called "OMG I am getting old, fat, and ugly, I'd better find a wife."
Until a man begins to play the last game he's pretty much useless. They are excellent actors because they have discovered that acting gets them what they want (IN YOUR PANTS).
Your mission, should you choose to accept it is to hold out for the man who is playing game number 2...because until a man has moved on to game number 2 he is just playing game number 1.
Hope this helps~

Guys usually at a young age tend to only want one thing. As they grow older though their mindset will eventually drift towards a commitment. Now there is not always a scheme in mind, but a good chunk of it could be.

Everyone has motives for what they say or do and most of us are selfish so our motives are selfish - we do or say things to gain something for the most part and to avoid confrontation at other times as we think the truth will cause anger or hurt.
I always say actions speak louder than words. Look at their body language when they speak. Are they open and looking you in the eye or looking away or at their feet (usually indicates untruthfulness) and how they behave in general. It's easy to say anything and fool someone. It's harder to fool them with your behavior and actions.

I believe that men have certain private things they do not want to discuss and a woman will nag until we are forced to tell a little lie, which could back fire and the we are scrabbling to cover our tracks

No way. Men aren't smart enough to trick a woman. Unless she acts like a blonde.

Men's brains work differently, and unfortunately, we don't always know why they do things, nor do we interpret what the say or do correctly. In time, you'll know how a bit better!
