I am considering replacing our petrol based, internal combustion engine Ford Escape with a Ford Escape Hybrid. If you had the opportunity to go back in time, would you still buy the Hybrid Escape? Why/Why not?

I don't own one because I sell them. I drive dealer "demo's".
I have had both Hybrid & non-hybrid Escapes as my 'demo's'. & I prefer the Hybrid.

Ford Escape Hybrid. It's the 'greenest' SUV

It also has a large federal tax incentive available & it has actually gone DOWN in price each year of its production ('05-'06-'07-'08)
I've driven one extensively & it is really FUN to drive.

In my experience, I DOUBLED my MPG (hybrid vs non-hybrid V6 Escape, both 4X4 ) & I drive like a complete idiot!

Also New York City taxi drivers have put HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of miles on theirs (withno problems, btw) & if they can survive that kind of abuse ( LOL ) I think they can handle anything.

Not one doubt.. Firstly, gas prices where I live are 3 dollars per gallon. I pay half as much per month as a lot of my friends. Secondly, you can get tax cuts for driving a hybrid vehicle. It's part of this whole government program that encourages hybrids. And lastly, why not be environmentally friendly? I don't know if you believe all that stuff about global warming, but you cannot deny that our Earth is not getting any cleaner with the rest of the population driving their gas-guzzlers around.

Other than that, the Escape Hybrid is not that much different from the Escape itself. The AC is a little weak, but if you're fine with that then I HIGHLY RECCOMEND this car.

Hell Yes! Although, the air-conditioner seems weak, so if you live in a hot place, you may want to take it for a spin to see if it is acceptable.

I have an all-wheel drive 2006 escape hybrid and I loooove it. I get great milage even with the AWD and it gets amazing as milage. I can really see the difference in my gas bill and it is a really easy way to be a bit kinder to mother earth. (and prevent my money from going to 'bad' foriegn governments).

I get really good-pick up, and when I am siting in traffic, it goes completly to battery (so long as I don't have the air conditioner on).

Good luck!
