A multi vitamin is something that is good for you regardless.

It will not help you lose weight but if taken over a long period of time you will see and feel a difference. They will help improve your skin, hair and nails as well as your vital organs.

Taking multivitamins has nothing to do with loosing weight, if that's what you meant by "dieting." Although there's no definitive proof that vitamins are beneficial to one's health, there's also no proof that a multivitamin like Centrum can do any harm (taking mega vitamins can be dangerous, however). For me, taking a daily multivitamin gives me peace of mind that I'm getting all my essential vitamins and minerals even if I'm not getting them through food.

Any quality multivitamin is good to take because few people get the RDA of everything every day (or come near it). Especially take vitamins when dieting, because most diets are gimmicky and have you greatly reducing or eliminating certain things from your diet so you miss out on vitamins and minerals you would've gotten naturally from those foods.
