Because many, many people refuse the gift of eternal life in Jesus Christ. They prefer to serve their own flesh (and by proxy) the devil.

The orthodox christian version of christianity is the one for which you are critisizing. They say that if you: Believe that Jesus is your saviour and died for you sins, then you can be saved. If you don't believe Jesus to be your saviour, you aren't forgiven, and so you could go to hell

If you don't like the Christian scripture's big picture, why not read about hell from other semetic or vedic religions where an answer to your question might be found (see sources). The bhagavad-gita explains the stratification of planets in the material world, and who goes to hell and for what reasons. To get the same perspective from christo-judaic texts you have to read allot more.

Also, if you read the old testement carefully,
it is noted that the Old Testament itself does not actually contain a literal account of the rebellion and fall of Satan. Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28 are directly concerned with the temporal rulers of Babylon and Tyre, rather than a supernaturalbeing; allegorical readings of these and other passages were typical of medieval scholarship but are usually not considered legitimate in modern critical scholarship. Accordingly, in most modern English versions of the Bible (including the NIV, NRSV, NASB and ESV) the proper noun "Lucifer" is not found; the Hebrew word is rendered "day star", "morning star" or something similar.

There is still a hell because even though Christ died on the cross for our sins if the individual will not accept it; he/she has to deal with the consequence of his/her choice.

Just like there is "lottery" a person can't win if they don't buy the ticket and play the game; so using the same logic a person doesn't automatically get to heaven without accepting Jesus as their lord and Savior and walking as Jesus did.

All scriptures referenced from New International Version

1 John 2:6
Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.

Romans 6:1
What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?

Acts 2:38-39
38Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call."

God hates sin, and can't have anything to do with it. We are all sinners, every last one of us, and our righteousness are as filthy rags (would you use an oil rag to clean your car?) But Jesus Christ was the perfect sacrifice, and His blood cleanses us from our sins... you could say that His blood is like bleach, you can scrub and scrub an oil rag all you want, but you're not going to get the oil out, but when you apply the bleach, the rag becomes clean.

Same goes with Jesus' blood: it must be applied. If you reject His perfect sacrifice for you, than your sins certainly aren't washed away, if you say 'yup, that's the blood' but don't apply it, your sins won't be washed away, only if you accept and apply the blood of Jesus will your sins be washed clean.

And that is why there is a Hell... people still want to do things their own way, they either reject or do not apply Jesus' sacrifice to themselves. And if you are one of those who has never accepted and applied Jesus' blood, than sadly you are on your way to busting Hell wide open right this very minute. Please, accept Jesus Christ and escape the awaiting eternal torment!

Well, yes, hell is for satan and his angels, those false prophets and for those that reject Jesus. Sin is not what sends anyone to hell, it's rejection of Jesus Christ. All people are already forgiven for their sins, all they need to do is accept it, acknowledge it and never do it again. As long as we are in the flesh, it's hard not to commit any sin but we could be forgiven through Jesus if we ask for it. =)

That's not it at all. Yes Hell still exist. It was Jesus who died on the cross to save us from going to Hell if we put our faith into Him. We are all sinners whether we like it or not and will be sinners til we die. We would all be going to Hell if we sinned which we all have and will continue to sin. You seem to believe that if we do good deeds than we would go to Heaven, but that's not what the Bible says.
In Eph. 2:8 it says
"For it is by Grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God," And the next verse says "not of works, lest anyone should boast." I believe what is said in these verses and we have a choice to go to Hell or Heaven. If we put faith in the Lord than we will go to Heaven. If you live your life despising the Word of God and become hateful of the Lord than you will Go into the firing place in Hell! God Bless!

He died so that we could be FORGIVEN of our sins, NOT so that sin would be defeated. The Apostle Paul said that we are "all apt (liable) to sin". The fact that we're still human should bear this out! Jesus' sacrifice was intended to give us the opportunity to overcome sin through repentance, water baptism, sanctification and being filled with the Holy Ghost. Hell is intended for Satan and his angels, but it will also be for those who chose to reject the pardon for our sins that he bought with His blood.

Because we have choices to make in this life which determines our eternal destiny... If you live for Jesus Christ, obeying his Word and Spirit, you go to heaven, but if you choose to disobey, as you are doing, you will go to hell..."God is willing that none should perish, but that all should come to repentance"... Sin are things that we do that are contrary to the Word, so accept him, read his word... live by it... you're right, hell was made to lucifer and his demons, but mankind fell into sin but there is a way out through Jesus Christ...

If you read the Bible for yourself, this answer would be very obvious, but I will explain the best way I can- God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whosoever believes on Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. Look at this verse very carefully- we have to believe that Jesus died for our sins- and then we will not perish. Repentance is apart of this. Jesus did not die so we can continue to do anything we choose and still go to heaven- this is not love it is cheap grace- and Grace is not cheap- it cost Jesus His life.

no... if we sin we don't go to hell. you need to check up your theology. the deal is, Jesus died to provide us a way out of hell. we have to accept. if we don't, then we're rejecting his offer of get out of hell free. thus, we stay there. rejecting Jesus' gift means rejecting a way out of hell. thus, for those stubborn or blind enough to refuse, there has to be a place for them to choose to stay instead of following Jesus out. thus, hell.
one more question. why is Jesus dying for our sins retarded? I fail to see your logic.

oh, by the way, it's hypocritical. and yes, we are. we sin just like anyone else, but we know we can have forgiveness if we ask.
the phrase is "how about them apples."

I'm sorry if this came across as harsh. it is. I'm not having the best day, and I unfortunately have little patience for people who make statements without knowing the background of their topic.

Because he didn't and there isn't. Duh.
If you want to ignore part of the mythos, don't get all het up over the rest of it.
When Christians say, "Jesus died for our sins," they mean that if you follow the teachings of their holy book, you will go to their version of paradise.
The crucifiction was never intended to be a "Get Out of Jail Free" card for bad behavior.
There is no logical way to refute a faith, kiddo. Either buy it or get out of the store. But don't lean on the glass criticising the goods to the other customers ... it makes the shopkeeper mad.
